Vegas 3 Spot Scoring

# Thread: Vegas 3 Spot Scoring

1. ## Vegas 3 Spot Scoring

This may sound stupid but how do you keep score?
There is an "X" ring then 10, 9 8,etc.
Is the X counted as 10 and then added as a total of X's? For example I shoot 10, X, 10. That equals 30 with 1 X?
When I see 300/28, that means all but 2 arrows where in the X?

What are the diameters of the rings?
X= 2cm or about a dime
10= 4cm or about a poker chip

Does the ring have to be broken to count as the smaller ring? Can the arrow be touching the line and count as the higher scoring ring?

And I apologize if they are not called rings, not sure of the proper terms.

Yes......

Not sure exactly but you're close.....

In vegas and most others, touching. A few places say "break" the line......

And I apologize if they are not called rings, not sure of the proper terms.

Best I can do from my phone above.....

What is an average score?

With all of the above being true, I shot 289/10, first time ever trying it. Is that good, bad or average?

Man that's hard to say. The scores are entirely individual. Let me first encourage you to focus on you..... you know if you're happy with you're shooting.... and either way, you've set the bar and your focus should be improvement against yourself.

If you shot a 289..... with nothing lower than a 9 (all in the yellow), it was probably well above the national average.

I'd also say that most of the groups and scores you see posted outside of tournaments are irrelevant or "influenced" in one way or another. 298+ shooters aren't every where. 300 shooters are rare. 300 with 27+ are extremely gifted.
