I guess I recall that sound when I first started using my Carter too. It needs to be used and broken in. Maybe to speed up the process you could oil it down with some Neetsfoot Oil or a similar leather softener.

Make sure your strap is locked down and not slipping. I have not noticed any noise with mine.

I find it makes a popping or cracking noise when it gets alot of tension on it. And it's loud enough to get me busted or make them run off.

I love the Quickie for hunting. I've never heard any noise come out of mine, but maybe I just haven't noticed it. One thing you'll find with the trigger being so smooth is that a little dirt in it will cause it not to reset itself on the shot. I have found that a little spray silicone will keep it cleaned out and working even more smoothly than when it was new. I only have to do this maybe once a week, but I shoot every day all year long in a dusty field, so it gets a lot of hard use. I think you just need a few hundred shots through it to get the kinks out.
Hunt hard, learn something everyday in the woods, never give in, and that's the moment the big bull will step out broadside.

Bring a GPS. It's awkward to eat your hunting partners.

Is it just the velcro sound?

The kill is the satisfying, indeed essential, conclusion to a successful hunt. But, I take no pleasure in the act itself. One does not hunt in order to kill, but kills in order to have hunted. Then why do I hunt? I hunt for the same reason my well-fed cat hunts...because I must, because it is in the blood, because I am the decendent of a thousand generations of hunters. I hunt because I am a hunter.- Finn Aagard

I need a Scott strap for a Quickie 1. I found a couple here but not sure which one I need. Look near the upper right hand corner. One is a replacement strap and the other a NCS strap.

I just picked up a Quickie 1+ with a Scott strap. The only noise I get is the squeak of the leather strap. This should go away by breaking it in. Might use a little bees wax. I love this release for hunting.

    quiet

I went to the Quickie this year. Mine has the buckle strap and I don't get any noise.

From what you descibed, I would have tried some string wax on the strap before I spent $$ on a new wrist assembly. The situation seems unusual.
