    heavy or light stabilizer

Ok lets hear the benfits of a heavy or light long stabilizer?I have been shooting a 28'' shrewd which is fiarly light 4.9 I believe on my 101st.Well today I was at the local archery shop and they had a 30'' octane which is alot heavier than the Shrewd. My do wants to fall foward right after the shot now and it held better on the spot even under windy conditions today. But my bow felt alot different as the shot went off with the heavier one it almost felt like it wanted to jump out of my hand and this was not shock.

There is really not heavy /light issue. Just a general statement. Yes, a heavier mass weight is better then a ligher one when shooting targets. and a lighter one is easier to move around while hunting.

You, dont want to be too heavy that it ''pulls'' you down out of the shot.

I message from my phone...so posts are short and sweet . No need for grammar , figure it out man.

I have two stablizers. One long, chrome and one camo short.

Long one is approx 30" and short approx 15".

Not much difference in it for hunting, but target it helps.

    stabilizer weight

For competition I like a little weight the bow does not move around on the target as much and groups are alot better. You need side weight on all your competition bows the bow will not go any where but toward the target after the shot with a slight roll.
For hunting something that deadens the noise if you have any scoil or one to that affect, of course light weight because of the walking factor.
