    Oats for deer

    Anyone every feed deer oats and I'm talking the grain not a food plot? If so do they eat it?

    Yes.
    I drop them in the winter to help the deer make it thru a bad winter.

    I was going to mix oats in with corn this winter but, I was sure if it would hurt the deer by making them bloated or something.

    They love oats. people feed them sweet feed all the time from the local co-ops

    After the hunting season I have been feeding shelled corn with a 1/3 mix of oats for over 12 years no problems and the turkeys like the oats better than the corn,
