    Longbow Price?

How much am I looking at to have one of you to build me a very simple non backed Hickory Longbow? Would I get off cheaper just buying one of the you-finish ones from Rudder Bows? This would just be a "try it to see if you like it" bow. If I like the Longbow, I would be getting a better one down the road.

Bowstick has $50 CNC cut bows here They're supposed to be pre-tillered.

I ordered one up too. What to do? Hmmm... I've ordered up some Jenuwine spitting cobra skins that are awfully light in color... could contrast nicely with the carbon color on it. Decisions, decisions.

You'd be better off with one of those. My better bows go for $350-$500.

    Not exactly a good "starter".

350 to 500...you been smokin something son. Unless you have a name made for yourself in the bowyer world already a selfbow is NOT worth that much. Average guys get less than half that.

Do you have much of a market Kegan or do they take a while to sell? I've seen a few self bows on the rack at the local archery shop in that price range and they have been there a long time...

I just sold my first bow to my bro in law for $130 simply to pay for a new rest on my wheel bow. He is the one I gave an unbacked hickory bow to for his 40th birthday. He liked it so much he bought the other matched bow for a friends upcoming birthday. I've been told by the archery shop owner that I should ask around $300-$350 for my better bows so far. I guess I'm hesitant to put that hefty of a price tag on my work at this point.

I meant to say that's how much I charge- not how much anyone pays.

That's why I always tell people it's just easier to make their own (or buy a fiberglass bow).

Those that ordered the $50.00 bows, let me know what yall think about them.

Kegan, I have heard your name in the same sentance with the word bow many times. Do you have a website so I may drool over what you make?
