    Bowtech General String Suppressor Problems

    Hi
I just picked up a New Bowtech General on here. I have been having problems with the factory string suppressor. Everyfew shots the string seems to stay inside the rubber stopper or pull the rubber stopper back with it. I keep having to keep putting the stopper back on as it often comes out of the string stopper. Also I believe that it is twisting my D- loop.
Will replacing it with the bowjax aftermarket rubber fix this or is there a simple way to stop my string from getting stuck and pulling the rubber out?

Make sure the string is not hitting the dead center of the stopper. Ideally it should hit about 1/8" to the left of center. Just adjust the j-arm by swiveling it up or down. Also, there should be 2 rubber "balls", one on each side of the holder, to keep it locked into place.

Ya I think it's hitting dead center cause the string is sometimes stuck deep in the stopper. Even though the rubber balls are there it still is pulling them out.

Well I did the adjustment and it isn't sticking anymore but it seems to be puttin a lot of stress on the rubber ball on the left side. I can see where it is starting to tear. Looks like the rubber is way to soft. Ordered a Bowjax so hopefully that solves the issue.

Get the bowjax stopper. I stopped having the same problems with my General when I put one on. I think it even made the bow quieter. I bought 2 over a year ago and have not needed to replace the first one yet after 3-4000 shots.

Well as per the other post I moved the suppresor so the string was 1/8 of an inch to the left of center. Stopped it from getting stuck but putting some pull on the left side of the rubber.
