i was given a confirmation number after i was told that my bow had been shipped. is a confirmation number the same as a tracking number?

i'm getting nervous. please tell me i shouldn't be!

They are along the same lines but not quite as good. They are supposed to scan the delivery number at each terminal that way the post office can go back and check if it gets lost. It is really for your mail person to scan showing that they indeed delivered to your address. Sometimes they forget to or get soo busy they miss it. Not to worry though. I have never had one go missing. I have had some people say they did not get it though.

Dont get nervous yet. A Delivery Confirmation # will tell you when the package was shipped, and when it was delivered, if you enter that number in the USPS site it will tell you when it was shipped, unlike a tracking # from UPS that will show you the progress of the package the DCN just shows when it was shipped and when delivered.

Go to this link and enter the number you have and you should see when the package was shipped. It may take a day for it to show up in the system.

Dont get excited yet just keep an eye out on it and all should be well

keep checking

i keep plugging in my confirmation number...and it keeps telling me there is no package under that number.

i'm doing my best not to be nervous...but this is my first bow bought online, so i'd be lying if i said i wasn't a bit worried!

he took it there yesterday afternoon, so i'm assuming it's been scanned into the system.

Don't worry. It usually takes a day for it to show up on the tracking. It will show up as accepted at the seller's PO on such and such a date.

yes you'll be able to see everything pop up once it's entered into the system. sometimes that takes 2 days.

I have also had packages arrive before it showed on their tracking:wink:

if it is one of those paypal DC#'s they never seem to work . The DC tags you get from the post office does work like a tracking # now. USPS changed it recently to work like tracking
