MarksExtra - I know you can't test them all but some other small cams you might consider are the Spypoint IR-6, Spypoint IR-8, ScoutGuard SG550 & SG570 and the UWay cams offered from HCO just to name a few.

Alright, first concern with the replacement WGI x6c I got, and it's not even outside yet. Powered it up to input all of my settings and there is an audible click/clunk when I power the cam on and off. Ran a couple pics through it and it doesn't seem to do anything when taking the pics, but I need to get it out into the woods to see how it works. It's the little things about these cams that can drive you nuts! Anyone else notice this noise when you hit the power button?
Well. That is not good at all. I don't think I would even waist my time with it. I'd send it back right away. Please keep us posted on how it all turns out for you.

Mine ( X6C ) makes the clunk sound upon first power on also.
My 2010 Bushnell Trophy cam does the same thing. ( clunk on power up ).

Thank you for this link and information. For those who have not visited the site, it appears that you are able to purchase two Moultire Game Spy I45ir cams for $234 and two I65ir's for $279. It appears they come with batteries and a 1GB SD card which in my mind replaces any shipping costs. Pretty nice deal. Uh oh. I might be trying one of them out next! I'll first have to check out chasingame and see what other guys are reporting before I'll commit to a purchase.

i had my eyes on the predators but seems the bushnells have better trigger time and better battery life. i know they had some serious issues with the 2010 models and i am going to take my chances and hope the 2011 models are better.
I have Four 2009 models Bushnells and just got a 2010 model Bushnell right from Bushnell them selves so it is the latest updated model.
A few things that I noticed between the 2009 and the 2010 are the sensitivity levels. The 2010 High sensitivity is way to sensitive. 2010's medium level is = to the 2009 high level.
The 2009 3 picture burst is 2 seconds between each picture (3 pictures in 6 seconds total ), the 2010 model there is 1 second between each picture ( 3 pictures in 3 seconds ).
I had the 2010 sensitivity on high and I thought I had a run away right from the box.
But it wasn't constant, some time a few hours between pictures, other times it was constant pictures for three minutes all with nothing in them.
Medium level seemed to fix that.
I'll keep you informed.

If you had to pick just one, what would it be? I have had a Moultrie for 4 yrs It was one of the last ones that used the 6volts I love it but it just started messing up. I though another Moultrie IR maybe ?
As Marks extra has said, not one camera will give us ( at least me ) everything that I want.
The best for me so far has been the 2009 Bushnell Trophy cam. ( haven't had the 2010 long enough to know yet ).
The Bushnells have great trigger speed, great delay settings, the best battery life, Good IR's ( 2010 are better ), etc, etc.
Temperature would be a nice thing on them.

I think the best camera would be a 2009 Bushnell that took day pictures like a Predator, had temperature with the time stamp and have forty to fifty IR's.

.......so that it flashed like a Moultrie and took nice night video and all with the price of the WGI x6c. :59:

For me it's the WildGame Innovations x6c. Why? I think the video mode overcomes its slower trigger speed and lack of burst mode. If you only plan on still pictures for trails, you should look elsewhere. Its size can't be beat. The price point is where is belongs at $129. If it gets stolen it won't break the bank. Flash and sensor range are great. It doesn't seem to be a problematic camera from those using them. You do need to cover up the flashing red light but it only takes a couple minutes. Overall I like the cam.....as long as it stays waterproof. Time shall tell....

Oh I forgot. I just picked up another WGI x6c today at Dicks. Still $129 bucks plus tax. I did the light fix in a couple minutes and the cam is out already.

we seem to have a similar experience. we got the new 2010 bushnell this year. first time we put it out had it on high sensitivty and had the run away deal. picture after picture of nothing. partly because the sun hit it and the senitivity a fly triggers it. once we figured it out we put it on low sensitivity and it worked flawlessly. the low setting is more than enough for deer size animals. it triggers very well and not too many blanks. toward the end of my season tho i noticed it started doing the run away thing like you said where it wasnt pic after pic but randomly at nothing. we had it on video mode so it was video after video. kind of had a mind of its own it seemed like. biggest thing was you had to go thru a bunch of blank vids because you never know what was in the video and it burned batteries out for nothing. i left back to china after the season so i didnt get a chance to test it out in the yard and see if i can fix the problem. i just thought it was weird how it worked great and then started the run away after it worked great for 4 months. any ideas why? i am pretty sure they will have this problem figured out and the 2011 models will be better than this year. hoping they will be more like 2009 ones. also wish they would put a counter on the screen like moultrie does to tell you how many pics or vids were taken while you had your camera out. gets you excited when you know a bunch of shots were taken.

Yeh, I noticed that also.
The 2009 model showed how many pictures or videos.
The 2010 only will show how many pictures, but doesn't show how many videos.

Some test I have done with the Spypoint IR-6.

Spypoint IR-6
Semi compact.
Easy to navigate and set up.
46 IR illumination.
Inside falls out everytime you open the door.
Spypoint did not hold time, Date was right, but it lost 5+ hours in the weeks time.
Battery level is done in 1/3rds on the Spypoins gauge.
Went out at full charge and ended at the 2/3rds in the weeks time.
Reaction time is slower then the Bushnells.
Objects were further into the first picture then compared to the bushnells.
Picture quality is good, but seemed blurry on movement.
Final evaluation :
Spypoint took a lot of pictures with blurry subject.
Any slight movement of the animal made a blurry subject.
Some pictures seemed overall out of focus.
Good battery life and finally seem to hold time.
