I was looking for a new bow and wanted one in black so I shot the venture and the assassin a couple of times, the venture in a nice shooting bow but for me the assassin just seemed to fit me better and i was really shooting tight groups with it so I bought the Assassin black ops same price as the camo, i really like my new bow

idk im shooting 70 yards tight feathers touching onall arrows!!!!!!!!

The Bowtech Assassin is not a fully machined riser like the Mission Venture. The Assassin is a dual cam design while the Venture is a single cam design (This technology is what Mathews is famous for.) The Assassin does not have a roller guard and there Parent company is Savage Firearms. Mathews is owned buy an Archery Guy and all there Employees are serious Archery hunters and all they manufacture is Compound bows. Both Companies offer a Life time warrenty try both bows and see wich bow you like better. When I purchased my Mission Venture I found the single cam to be smoother and the cam on the Venture is made to your draw lenght there are no adjustable modules to break on the cam. Its been my experience in life the more moving parts the more likely somethings gonna break. I felt more comfortable with Mathews/Mission than I felt for any other brand. I was 99% sure I was going to buy a Diamond Black Ice and I ended not even shooting one becuase the biggest bow shop in Ct. told me when I asked what was the best compound Bow they told me Mathews hands down. THey told me there where better choices than Diamond and Bowtech. This Bow shop sells Mathews ,Hoyt ,Bowtech ,Diamond,Mission,Pse and Martin and they said Mathews was the cream of the crop. Mission is made in the same Factory by the same people that make the best bow in the world. You get Mathews quality and Technology and warrenty at a great price.
Just my .2 cents

From what I understand the Assassin is Machined 6061 aluminum. Also the dual cam it is completely symmetrical and requires less tuning also.

Mathews didnt have to steal their designs from some guy in Alabama, like Bowtech, LOL. newazs everyone has different taste and get what ever shoots the best for you. If everyones bows were the same, how much fun would that be.

I have not shot the mission venture but have shot the assassin many times and it is a great shooting bow and a great bow for the price... And unlike what that guy said above I have never seen any mod problems with these bows, they are just easier to change draw length unlike the mission where you have to change the cam. At the shop I help at we deal with alot of target shooters and they were very impressed with this bow especially at 333 fps and these guys shoot top of the line Hoyt bows. The only thing I would recommend is down the line is to change the hostage rest on it cause those bristles wear out... That's just my 2 cents but I don't think u could go wrong with either one

Assassin hands down, no cam specific or mod changes. Bow is almost silent when u shoot, absolutely no hand shock and light as a feather. Just my opinion but I have never seen a Matthews that was anywhere close to as smooth as a bowtech

The Assassin is also 12 fps faster IBO, dual cam and comes with accessories. Shoot them both and you be the judge.

12 fps is nothing! put a speed nok on the bottom there at least 5-9 fps

I don't want to hijack the thread but which bow has the smoother draw and is quieter? I really don't care about the speed both bows are fast enough, but my concern is the draw and noise. Any first hand opinions from people that have shot both bows would be great.

Thanks,
Bowhunt

yea the venture is by far the smoothest bow ive draw so far and very quiet

Is have to disagree I like the assassin much better on the draw and backwall. But that's where the point is made that its whichever is the most comfortable for you.

Comparing a Mission bow to the Assassin is like comparing a Yugo to a 'Vette. If you're going to compare the Assassin, it should be one of the 'Z' series Mathews bows.
