I built an arrow cresting maching a couple weeks ago. One thing I miss about wraps, though, is the ability to get reflective ones. Most of my shooting happens in the afternoon, so I always seem to have to hunt arrows down after dark. I was thinking that I could use some kind of glow in the dark or reflective airbrush (or rattlecan for that matter) paint. I want to use it as the base coat then airbrush designs on top.

I've found a few different kinds of glow in the dark airbrush paint online, but I don't know anything about them. Does anyone know the best kind to get? Is there a type of paint that has the same reflective qualities as the reflective wraps, or would I be better off with glow in the dark?

Thanks!

How do you like it? Will it keep glowing after dark from the ambient light during the day? Also, do you use the water-based or solvent-based paint?

Sorry, but I should have said that I didn't apply mine with an airbrush. I bought a 1/2 oz of the Ultra Green V10, which is solvent-based, and it works amazingly well. I used it as part of a home-made scope I built. I haven't actually tried to shoot with it in low light yet, but I will say that it charges quickly and lasts a long time. I bought a 365nm LED flashlight to use to charge it up (from Amazon) and that works really well, too.

BTW, I like your idea of glow in the dark cresting :)

A couple of days ago I read a thread where someone got a blue light you clip on the bill of your hat.Apparently, some of the paint he uses for cresting glows when the light shines on it(flouresent paint maybe?)I tried to find the thread to refresh my memory, but no luck.He posted a pic, though, and the arrow was easy to see.

Nah, by that time it will probably be too late to shoot. My arrows are bright pink anyway, so I would be more worried about that during the day. Although, I've never had a deer spook from my pink arrows.
