Decided to try a new release this season and I just received my Scott Caliper Release with Grip (like Uncle Ted uses). This thing is super sensitive. Barely breath on it and it goes off.. I know some prefer it to be that way but I was wondering if there is a way for me to adjust it and decrease the sensitivity of it. Came brand new in package but were no instructions and I could not find anything on their website. I see a couple of set screws in it but I don't want to start messing with them. Would like if someone could tell me which one I need to turn and maybe add a picture if possible. This is the release I bought.

Okay I'll try that. Do most guys prefer them super sensitive. I am just used to the tru-ball I have been using last 5 years which is not nearly as sensitive.

Well I turned that tiny allen screw on the inside of the trigger...Turned it clockwise to make it less sensitive and it really did not seem to make much of a difference at all.. Even turned it almost all the way clockwise and felt about the same..Maybe I am just used to my old Tru Ball and fact that requires more trigger pull...

Just bought the same release this year and noticed it had a very touchy trigger. I like the release but I did have to turn the set screw out quite a bit. When I first got it I lost two arrows when the wind gusted up and set off the trigger! HA I like this trigger because I do not like anything attached to my wrist. It just took a few arrows and a little practice to get use to.

You said turn the screw out...That would infer turning it counter clockwise as in lefty loosey... Was told to turn it clockwise to reduce sensitivity...Which one is it?

Thank you...For some reason mine didn't come with any..Even though was in factory sealed packaging..
I still have the instructions so when I get home I will read them and add it to this thread.

Scott Caliper release

Hello Sluggo,

I have a Scott Caliper release but it is the wrist band type. Although I have the same type of adjustment screw . I can not scan you anything but i can type out my instructions:

Trigger Sensitivity adjustment

The Trigger sensitivity adjustment is located at the base of of the trigger below the trigger post .To increase tension , turn the screw clockwise . To decrease the tension, turn the screw counter-clockwise .Test the release after each 1/4 turn increment . It is possible to adjust the set screw out too far, which makes the release too sensitive .

I had the same issue with my Scott release and adjusted it just fine. It works just great .

Hope this helps

Trigger sensitivity Adjustment
The trigger tension adjustment set screw is located at the base of the trigger below the trigger post. To increase tension, turn the screw clockwise. To decrease tension turn the screw counter-clockwise. Test the release after each quarter-turn increment. It is possible to adjust the set screw out too far, which makes the release too sensitive. (This is from the factory instructions) If you are still having problems you can contact Scott at techsupport@scottarchery,com or call at 606-663-2734. Hope this works for you!
