I don't have a scale and was wondering what blazers weigh and an average insert. I'm trying to figure out what a FMJ @ 27-3/4" with a 100 grain tip would weigh.

The 2" blazer vanes weigh 6 grains each and the full metal jackets weigh around 340 grains then add the 100 grain tip. The insert weighs about 12-13 grains.

I've weighed Blazers and seen as much as a 1.4gr spread in weight. That's as much difference as a 3" shield feather even weighs. Of course, most were between 5.5 and 6, but the lightest was 4.9 and the heaviest was 6.3 grains. That's a horrible spread for a 2" vane. Seriously.

blazers do not weigh 5 grains as advertised. They actually weigh 6.2 grains each. Inserts weigh between 11-21 grains on most carbon shafts. The average is about 15 grains.

The last 36 pk that I weighted averaged at 6.3 grains. The spread was only .4. Mix/matching them with all my other arrow components and arrows, I was able to build a dozen GT Pro Hunters within 0.5 grains.
