i would have to say mine is from the movie hanna where she shoots the caribu and runs it down, sticks a knife through its heart and says i just missed your heart :thumbs_up

Every Japanese person knows the story about Minamoto no Tametomo, who was kinda like the Japanese Robinhood. He was the baddest Samurai archer ever -- legend has it that his left arm was a good 6" longer than his right. He must've had a ridiculous DL!

Fighting off a rebellion (kind of a Davey Crockett/Alamo type situation), he was banished to some Southern islands. Part of the legend says he even founded the first civilization on Okinawa.

So the rebels are chasing after him and as one final stand, he heads out to the beach, nocks an arrow, and sinks an enemy ship with one shot!

Later, somebody cut the tendons in his left arm. Since he couldn't fight anymore, he cut his guts open with a sword and became the first guy ever to commit seppuku.

Brutal! :D

What was the most famous arrow ever shot?

The Battle of Hastings in 1066 was the decisive victory in the Norman invasion of England. William the Conqueror defeated Harold II, who was killed by an arrow which struck him in the eye. It is shown in the Bayeux Tapestry: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d2/Harold_dead_bayeux_tapestry.png

I'd say that was the most famous arrow ever shot. What's your choice?
very good choice and as a history major in college i would have to agree.

The explosive arrow that Arnold shoots out of that handmade bow in the movie predator! Classic 80s! haha

There are so many amazing movie bow shots between humorous ones and straight awesome ones, it should be its own thread. Like the one in the Punisher where Frank Castle shoots that dude in the neck with an arrow that hangs out about a foot past the bow's riser lol.

Africa 50,000 B. C. oldest Arrow Broad Head discovered, the Bowman was not identified. The most important shot was the first animal harvested.
