Went to a local archery today and got a first hand look for the first time at the new Mathews Creed, Chill, and the ZXT.
They all looked really nice. I didn't shoot any of them, just pulled them all back and felt the back wall and such. I personally really liked the feel of the ZXT.
and I loved the look of it more than the other two. Who has shot a ZXT and for the price how does it shoot? hand shock? speed? Take in mind my favorite
bow Mathews has ever made is the Switchback XT so I'm not a speed freak, but love the smooth easy draw and absolutely no hand vibration.
Appreciate any opinions.

I liked it so much I ordered one. I only shot it a few times, but it felt identical to my buddy's z7 extreme which I really like. Really quiet with very little vibration that would probably stop with a stabilizer. As far as speed, I was able to shoot through my dealers chrono while there. At 70 lbs 28" with a 350gr arrow I got 303, 304, 304 with peep, d loop, and stock string accessories. I was all around impressed with this little bow.

It is essentially the same bow as the z7x with a different string stop and different color option. Sweet shooting bow for sure! I believe Mathews is using this as their "cheaper" or affordable priced bow but in my opinion is still a high end bow considering it was nearly identical to the 2011 flagship bow...the z7 xtreme. If you like it, buy it!!

I have one ill see if I can give you some insight , as before mentioned same specs as the Z7 Xtreme but without all the red , it's actually a little longer in brace height the ZXT is 7-3/4 I believe the Xtreme is 7-1/8 so it's very forgiving, as for shooting it , it draws really smooth it's less aggressive than the Heli-M and the Xtreme it has a really solid back wall for not having a draw stop , It holds really well for being such a short ATA , I'm getting really good groups out to about 40-45 yards then it drops off a little (that could be me though) the grip feels really nice in the hand I'd doesn't have that bulky feel to it , it's also extremely quiet , now I'm not going to lie it's not the fastest bow but if you're not a speed freak and just want a pure hunting bow then I'd go with it , I'm getting at a 28" draw and 60# , 272 fps consistently.

I concur with most of your assessment, but the zxt and extreme have exact same brace height. The extreme is listed at 7 3/8 and the zxt at 7.375 which are equal. I do agree its slightly less aggressive than the helim, but not the extreme since they use the same zx cam. The extreme and zxt shoot exactly the same. The only real difference between the 2, other than cosmetics, would be the limbs. The extreme uses se5 the zxt se6. I've heard the se6 are different composite that are cheaper to produce but still retain great strength. The only difference in specs between the two is speed and I attribute that to the different limbs and perhaps mathews was a little more exact on the ibo of the zxt.

Hey Johnnyfootball0
BTW I'm a college football fanatic and Mr.Manziel is one heck of a quarterback. Congrats to Texas A&M for beating bama..I'm a Tennessee Vol fan and hate bama.
Anyway, thanks for the info on the ZXT. My main concern is wonderng how it actually draws, but I'll find out soon enough. A shorter bow in ATA doesn't bother me because my draw is only 27 inches. As I stated in my post, I've been a SBXT owner ever since Mathews put it out. I'm wanting a new or newer bow that is better or as good. One that's easy and smooth to draw and no hand vibe at the shot. I certainly realize that without actually shooting these bows I won't know for sure. I do like the looks of the ZXT I'm an old school guy and just want a no nonsense hunting bow that doesn't have to look "pretty" if you know what I mean. It's called hunting, not a beauty contest.
appreciate the info.

To me the zxt was the smoothest drawing Mathews I shot at my dealer. That includes the creed, helim, and chill. It's not quite as smooth as a sbxt, but it is very close. The backwall is not as solid as the creed or helim but it is definetly not mushy. I liked that it didn't really want to take off on me, but still sustained decent speed. There was very little vibration. Its just my opinion, you should definetly shoot one yourself. I think you will be pleased

Btw I'm a vols fan as well. It's been rough lately. Lol
