Can I please get some help ? I just picked up a bear apprentice 2 bow for my 10 year old daughter. The problem I'm having is that the two cables are rubbing each other, and there is a lot of cam lean. Does anyone know if this is normal for this bow? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I bought one for my wife recently, the cables do rub together. I tried turning the slide around but that doesn't help. The bow appears to be set up properly. I didn't notice any large amount of cam lean though.

We have alot of youth at our club that shoot this bow. It seems that the string and cables are really crappy. Even at low poundage we were adjusting them every couple weeks to keep them in time.

I bought an apprentice 3 for my 8yr old this year. yes the cables rub a little but hasn't had any negative affect on the bow. Cam lean, adjust the yokes to take it out, had to do this as well. If you bought it from a pro shop they should be able to set up properly. If you bought it from big box store, oh well. I have never bought a new bow, cheap or expensive that was tuned and ready to shoot out of package, they all have to be set up.

I got the cam lean out of my son's Apprentice II and now the cam almost touches the cable on top. Some day I'll get new cables made and as 60x told me, have the yoke legs made longer. With a big cam and a short ATA bow these things will happen. It hasn't stopped my 10 year old from stacking arrows together!

My daughters Original Bear Apprentice had alot of cam lean, but I fixed it by twisting the apropiate yokes. The cams were also way off timing, but with the help of some fellow ATers I fixed that too. The cables aren't rubbing together on hers at all.

My two sons use their bear apprentice 2 bows with great success. I replaced the strings and cables on them with custom ones and that helped alot with the rubbing. The stock strings are very thick.

Here is a picture of them.
