All,

Just wondering who uses Horn Hunter packs? If you don't, any reason why? I am not ruling out other brands, but these have stood out the most due to being reasonably priced, well designed, and they are made in the USA. I've been looking close at different packs for weeks now trying to figure out the best one for me, but have really struggled making the decision. I'm also not opposed to a "lumbar" pack.

I'll mostly be hunting out of a tree stand with 1/4-1/2 mile hikes to the stand or ground blind. I try to wear as little as possible when hiking in, especially when hauling a stand so I must be able to strap my clothing to the pack. I would also like to have the ability keep my quiver strapped to the pack without having to significantly modify the pack. Durability and comfort are also priorities. Other than that, I am pretty open to suggestions. I am setting a budget of around $150 and would prefer to keep it less. I figure the less I spend on the pack, the more I can spend on fuel/gear.

Right now, I am eyeballing the following packs:

Horn Hunter G2
Horn Hunter G3
Tenzing 2220
Badlands Superday

If there is anything you like that I haven't mentioned, by all means bring it to my attention.

I have the horn hunter g3 treestand version ...its sweet. I got this last x mas from my ol lady haven't really used it much yet, only used it for hunting turkey so far. Let me tell you tho their is more room than what it looks to have and the shoulder straps are very well made and comfortable. I also like the fact it came with hooks to hang it and it also capable of carrying a rifle or bow. It also came with para cord rope for pulling things up into the tree with you. Theirs pockets inside of pockets, looks to be made of quailty material and don't quote me but I also believe some parts of the bag are water resistant.I'll be using this pack starting early bear season. I'm sure I'll love the pack.....Any further questions or pics you might want just ask cause I know online it doesn't show every detail.

Really good packs, I've used them on & off for years and always had good luck with them...I've got a Horn Hunter Mainbeam in Predator Deception camo I might be selling if your looking for one in Predator camo.

I have the one with the bow carrying straps and quiver. The bow straps started to tear on my first but it was made good so no complaint there. I carry a coat and bibs attached to mine because I walk a 1/4 to 1/2 mile to most of my stands. Works great with all the pockets.

I just got a full curl. works great. Walked a few miles with 30lbs last week was not sore. Material seems great quality.
craftmans ship is just as good.
Main thing with packs is to try them on. find the best one that fits you. I drove 2 hours to a buddies house just to try
how the Full Curl fitted then another half hour to try a tenzing. Proper fit outweighs cost anyday imho.

I use the Horn Hunter MAQ, multiple attachment quiver, pack that comes with a 5 arrow quiver. I usually walk about the same distance that you do as well and I never even put a quiver on my bow anymore. I used to just by cheap packs and strap my quiver to them , but with the MAQ pack you can attach the quiver in several different places , whichever is more comfortable and convenient for you, plus it has tons of pockets on top of pockets....plenty of storage space in a relatively small pack.
I also use it to strap my bulky winter clothing to and it works great for that as well. In my opinion they are some of the best packs on the market , and are extremely well built. Also being made in the USA is a big plus for me. You can feel the quality of the pack as soon as you pick it up.
No more cheaply made packs for me , as this is the only pack that I will use from now on. Last year was my first full season using it and I have zero complaints. Its made out of very quiet material , and some of the toughest zippers I've seen. Nothing but good things to say about my Horn Hunter.

I use the G2 for treestand hunting. I really like it. U can't beat the value. They're nice. I have fancier packs for out west and have compared them all. For strictly deer hunting I really think Horn Hunters are hard to beat.
