for those of you who have bows with rock mods on them, are they worth getting?

what is the most noticeable difference between a bow with mods, and one without?

thanks.

I changed the mods and my release would not go off, I had to change the magnet to the lighter one then all was good. It is smoother draw

They sure are, it is difference as night and day. The rock mods made my chill r draw ultra smooth. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.
youre going to have to excuse my ignorance, but im not very familiar with them, what exactly do the rock mods do other than make the draw smoother? are they an addition, or are they a replacement part?

On my Chill R the thing I noticed most was the back wall felt much more solid, that is a lot less spongy than the regular mods.

Mods with 80% let off came standard on my Chill R. They were OK, smooth but "spongy" might be an accurate description for a back wall. The 75% mods are faster (on my bow about 10 fps than the 80s and 85s (which were within 1 or 2 fps). The 75% mods draw is smooth, they have a solid back wall and ZERO valley. I like the 85% mods the best, the draw is smooth with a solid back wall and there is a good valley. I need a decent valley and I'm a lot more comfortable with them. While hunting I can hold the bow longer without it wanting to take off. (If my form/technique was perfect, I guess I would be pulling solid into the back wall without letting the bow creep at all, zero amount and wouldn't need a valley).

The solid back wall is the difference I noticed, still not quite as solid as a limb stop but very solid and repeatable none the less.

I would say they are well worth the price but I was also use to Bowtech so when I picked up a Mathews before the back wall felt mushy, I would reach full draw and could get another 1/2" beyond easily...with the rock mods that's not the case.

You can YouTube how to change them, it's super easy and you can buy the mods in the classifieds for around $30, imo, a worthwhile investment because of the better back wall and smoother draw.

They have 75 or 85% let off as compare to the 80% stock.
They make the bow easier to pull and have a draw stop giving you a solide wall.
It's not even a question, just get them

The standard 80% DY mods and the 75% rock mods are the same speed.......you will loose 10 to 11 fps with the 85% rock mods

another question to show my ignorance...

are the rock mods a universal fit for all chill models?

the only video i found about changing mods on a chill was about changing one set to another to change draw length. is this how you change the stock mods to rock mods?

what letter mod do i need for the rock mods? i dont have the bow to look at, it is still at the shop.

thanks.

Yes, they all have a letter but a letter "A" on one chill model may be different draw length on another chill model.

Yes to question two.

You need a letter "A" mod for a Chill SDX for 29" draw length. For High Let off 85% mod, part #50750A. For Low Let off 75% mod, part #50890A.

I got this info off a chart that I got on the Mathews Forum. Hope this helps you.

Back wall on my chill r is solid as a rock. My elite has a limb stop and i can't tell the difference between them two as far as back wall goes.

thanks again guys, really appreciate it.

drew it back the other day and noticed it was a bit spongy, so i think i will get a 75%. cant seem to find them here on the classifieds though, may have to just go through the dealer.

cant wait to get it all set up, it is going to take a while though.
