Long story short is I just bought a used Impulse 34 at 28". I need to get it to 27" which requires a new module. I talked to a dealer nearby (not the closest one to me) and they want $85 to swap the module, meaning they keep they 28". I don't think that is right so now I am researching how to change a mod myself. I have a bow master press and a vice so I am not worried about it. I just was looking for some literature or a video on how to change the module. Any help?

Really not that hard to switch mods with the right tools. Just make certain the draw stops get put back in before you draw the bow. If not it can lock up on you at full draw , not a good thing. Also a draw board is a good tool to have also.

I have used my bow master press on my Elites. $85 for a mod swap is ridiculous.

Thanks for the replies. I may try to change it myself if I can find a mod.

depends on what you are getting for the 85 dollars. Modules are yours unless they are doing it as a straight swap. Are they going to re set up your bow, making sure it is timed and sync using a drawboard, or are they just doing a 5 minute mod swap and nothing else to make sure it is back to factory settings? The last one you are taking it hard, a full re set of your bow, could be worth it for you.

From what I understand it is just for a swap. It would be a straight swap so $85 just to swap it. I am not sure if they will time it and the rest but I doubt it.

I believe anytime you change the mods you need to double check it. So many shop just let the cables and such hang rather then keeping pressure on, this at times lets some twists out. Changes the tune. The smart shops have a tag they use on their press that they slip the loops over to hold the twist. You still should have it checked.

On the bow master are you using the adaptor or just doing it the standard way?
It will be just the standard way as I didn't think it needed the adapters. Is that a problem?

Haha fair enough. I have not tried it yet though. I will once I get the mod.

Update: I am going to call the local dealer this week and see if the dealer can give me a better deal. I didn't update the dealer name as I don't want to do that.
