Picked up my Bowtech BT-X 28" cam today. Great finish on the riser and the limbs, grip is second to none. Straight out of the box, I didn't do anything to it. Put on a QAD HDX and a D loop. Bow set at 62.2 lbs, 28" dl in the #1 setting (performance), 310 grain arrow...334.5 fps. Bow came set at 27" dl in the #3 (comfort) setting. Tomorrow I will check specs, time it on the draw board. Pretty impressed with the speed...in the #1 setting is a little harsh on the draw, but I bet the #2 setting (classic) will be perfect. My buddy has the BT-X 31 cam set at 29" dl, 62 lbs, 310 gr arrow and his is getting 334.7 fps. I will get more numbers tomorrow on the classic setting. The 28" cam is performing great.

I held one of these at the Great American Outdoor Show a couple weeks ago. I was very happy to see that Bowtech finally got rid of those awful grips they have been using for the past few years. Bow looked beautiful. I didn't shoot it though for fear that my wife would kill me when I brought it home.

Just estimating but this looks like IBO is certainly obtainable with these. That's great to hear, I have an rpm and like most won't hit IBO. It's still a great bow but a lot of people got turned off from them because of not hitting the IBO which is understandable.

I'm really waiting for a 34-35" ata bt-x! Hopefully they do it!

Few of us here are pros. So take everything you read with a grain of salt. Especially what I say!

The BTX-31 gets 350 IBO pretty easily. It looks like the BTX-28 is going to be in the upper 350's.

ex-wolverine, the strings look awesome!! Thats one of my hang ups with the BTX, I cant believe they went with the "dried grass" color strings, they look like Poop!! Really between that and the mods.... geeze

Yeah they went with gold on the strings to match the hardware ion the cams.. I like the gold string material but not how they did it ... It's too much

Thanks for the words

Picked my Bowrech BT-X28 up last night

Got a call from my Archery Shop here in Albuquerque yesterday that my BT-X28 was in. I rushed right down there with all my stuff and got it set up. I'm amazed at the grouping I was getting from the get go! I was hitting my other arrows after every shot. So then I chronograph'd my 425 gr FMJ and was amazed that I averaged 294! I'm shooting 27" at 70#. Could not be happier and the bow shoots like butter and is so quiet and dead in the hand I know this will be my bow for a long time. I'll try and post some pictures.

Very cool Bowtech finally decided to address what "should be" the #1 draw length in the sport! (Now if we could just get PSE to pull their head out!)

Dont need a new bow, but man I really want to try out the the 28 cam. maybe grab a used one in a few months

My bow is set up now...28" dl, 62 lbs, peep, loop and kisser...getting 330 fps with a 310 gr arrow, 300 fps with a 380 gr arrow, and 284 fps with. 442 gr FMJ. I lost about 5 fps with the kisser and peep....not to bad. I've had Bowtechs since maybe '06 with the VFT and had most models, this is my favorite by far.
