I'm not really familiar with hawk tree stands but I like how they also use a bracket system like millennium does. I'm looking for something I can move around a lot and that's easier to hang but don't want to pay the millennium price.

I'm interested in the hawk Mega combat or the kickback.

My concern with them is the platforms look like they have the cheap mesh floor like muddy/big game. I'm a big boy at 260-270lbs so want something that will not flex with me and make me feel as if I'm going to fall through the floor.

do all hawk stands use the receiver to quick connect to the tree?

Does the Mega Combat come with the bracket system? I have seen them at the local Cabela's store and they picture a dual nylon strap system.....or is the hanger setup an addition???

I don't know for sure, but my feeling about Hawk was that they took over Gorilla's place in the market. They look VERY similar to all the Gorilla stands prior to gorilla getting out of tree stands. I personally love the gorilla as a stand to hang and leave. Other stands to take a look at would be the XOP, very affordable for what they are....cast alum, no cheap mesh. As for price, you can buy two XOP for the price of a millenium and with the XOP offset bracket you can move them to ANY tree, leaner, crooked...whatever. THat you can't do with a big game, Hawk, Gorilla etc.

You sure those hawk treestands use a bracket system? I have a hawk helium kickback and it does not use the bracket system. The stand is nice but I'm definitely going with the millennium for the bracket system next time.

Edit.... Looks like the only stand that hawk makes that uses a bracket is the xplor. Not sure why they don't do it with all of them. Granted, I haven't tried it but seems easier than hauling stand up, holding it in position while wrapping strap around. My 2 cents.

After posting on this thread, I went to the Hawk website and looked at their 2016 lineup. It appears that only the Xplor stand is set up to use the Xplor hanger system. To be sure, I sent them an email and will report back. I have been eyeballing the Millennium M-50, but it certainly is expensive. Might take a serious look at XOP instead.

Regarding the mesh no the base, it is much heavier that those you would see on something like a big game. I have never noted any flex like you see on cheaper stands. I bought a few of their stand last year and am very happy with them, I just hope they don't become over priced and lose focus as popularity grows, but for now, they are my go to stand.

What XOP stand are you finding for $80? You can get the millennium m100u new for $160.

I have a millenium M150 and a Hask kickback. I honestly think the hawk seat is a little more comfortable. Both platforms are very solid and stable, the size of the M-150 is a nice plus, though the Hawk isn't small. I like the reciever system in the Millenium, but makes hanging them very simple.
For the money, I'd probably by another Hawk, but it's nice having the M150.

I was confused by that as well. If you look at the description it says that it only works with the Xplor model. Which is unfortunate because I would probably be getting a Helium hang on if it had a bracket system.
they have that quick clip system. I am still thinking about grabbing one cause the price is great. I was wondering if something could be made just to hold the stand up like the receiver does then clip it.

what's wrong with it?
I bought it last fall from Cabela's and tried it on several different trees and could never get it to stop creaking. No way could you kill a deer out of it unless you barely move. Sounds like it's coming from the top area at the strap. Maybe I just got a bad one not sure, but I hung it on an oak in my back yard last week and same thing, creak every time you shift weight.

Hope you disclose that in your ad.

try some 3-1 oil on the hinges. it doesn't smell and might help. did you try calling hawk? curious how their CS is with stuff like that.

Has anyone tried any mods on the Hawke stands? I picked up a hawke helium treestand last year for my boy to hunt tandem portable sets with me. The seatbelt style strap proved to be difficult to release at the end of each hunt. The small loop strap broke on me the first set. May have been installing the strap too tight? Not sure but the stand is light, hunted comfortably for him with the only problem getting the strap releasing.

That said, I just ordered two Lonewolf hanging straps and two versa buttons. Planning on mounting one button high and the other low and doing away with the seatbelt style strap altogether. If anyone has tried this mod and can offer tips I'd appreciate it. Searched but found no info on this.
