I think it's near woodland.

I just looked up the Blue Dark Outfitters and from what I can see he has a lot of land and is in a very game rich area of NC. The counties he has leases in are of the top 5 harvest counties with Northampton being in the top 1-2 every year. Looks like he does have some pretty good restirctions on his herd as far as harvest age. I wouldnt come here looking for a 140 class buck or anything but if he does as he says, 120s is not going to be uncommon. Tons of turkeys in that area s I hunt the Roanoke River refuge just south of him and its infested with turkeys. Better take some snake chaps if going in spring and/or early bow season.. DONT FORGET THE THERMACELL!! OR BUG SPRAY!!! Best of luck and post pics and reviews if you get to go.

Thanks for all the info. And I will post pics and reviews

Depending on your goals... There are plenty of clubs in the area that offer an annual membership for nmt the cost of a guided hunt and a good portion of them will have a small hunting shack. With that you can hunt as much as you want and for all types of game. Good luck!

Dude, do what you want but if I am paying for a whitetail hunt I sure wouldnt come to my good old home state of NC. Almost any state offers better chances at a big buck....Now if you want numbers then you may be thrilled but if you want a good chance at a big buck then go west...every step you take west it gets better lol.

Until you get halfway across Colorado, then turn back around

Not trying to hurt anyone's feelings but agree with the post above about elsewhere. I moved to NC three years ago after living and hunting in states like Kentucky, Georgia, and Alabama. This was a definite drop off in quality in regards to deer hunting. Heck stop off in Virginia if you can't go west. Va has better quality bucks as a whole than NC. They shoot any and everything here.

LOL..you may be right...Nebraska is as far west as I have been and I have hunted quite a few states between here and there. I love living in NC but I also love hunting in others states. You see bigger deer. I have seen more P&Y bucks in one trip to Nebraska or Ohio than I have seen in a lifetime in N.C.

I live right around the corner from Woodland and i have never heard of them. There are several in the area that I have heard of though. As others have stated, i would consider a hunt here to be a stock the freezer kind of hunt. Lots of deer and a very generous rifle season keeps the deer from reaching there full potential.

Thanks for all the information so far guys. I've hunted the mid-west for a couple year's and seen some big deer a d shot as well. This trip is more for the fun and the intended just to have some action and to shoot some. I'm not really looking for that p&y on this trip. If I want that I'll definitely head west.
