These cores are just another step in Border Archery's ongoing commitement to advance their prouducts and push the enevelope

For that I commend them :)

Real nice video Joe ! Can't believe how quiet and fast that limb is shooting.
I'm really impressed

The bow has a great feel .... almost hydraulic

These bows and their design progression has really fascinated me

Every time I think well that is really impressive they implement a new change that just refines the expierence

I would be totally happy shooting the original Hex 7 ..... I'm totally blown away shooting the new 7.5 with the new core modification

Love the look of that bow.

Your dogs are getting big, amazing how fast they shoot up.

Thx Saw

As for the dogs Chris on tt commented so I'll post the same comment :)

As for the dogs it's crazy the male just broke 50 pounds at 6 months the female is around 44

They are the all muscle

The most densely muscled dogs I've owned

Most dogs at 6 months are lanky

These guys are just packing on muscle

In your video you make mention that you can match the performance of a higher draw weight bow, with a lower weight Covert Hunter, am I correct? I've been reading about these bows over the last year or so, and this seems to be the consensus of those who have them. If this is so then what I'd like to know is this:

I currently hunt with a bow that draws 48lbs. at my draw length of 30". My hunting arrow weighs 10.5grs. per inch. A five shot average through the chronograph is 182fps. This is a combination that has served me well for many years. What weight, or more specifically how much lower in draw weight of one of these Covert Hunters would I be able to shoot to duplicate the performance of my current kit.
I'm not sure this is a question you can answer, but from your video it's obvious you have a great deal of experience with these bows, so I figured if anyone can, it would probably be you. At any rate, thanks in advance for your time.

When I was shooting my CH that was 47#@29" I was getting 190 fps with a 515 gr arrow. Some people are getting over 200 with 10 gpp at 28". I would bet you could get close to 40# and get your numbers. The 7.5 limbs are very nice. I have a set of ILFs but haven't shot through a chrono yet but am using .340 with 200 gr tips. I was using .400 with 200 up front with the hex 7 limbs.

Hi Joe

Chris pretty much summed it up

You could drop 5 to 8 pounds and get the desired results

I'm guess like Chris a 40-42 pound CH would get you there

If I remember correctly you don't live in the Poconoes anymore

If your still near by or come to visit stop by and try one of mine

Thank you Joe for the very kind offer. My mother passed away two years ago and that was the last time I was "home." I have no family there anymore, and it's unlikely I'll ever return, but I appreciate the offer.

I would like to thank both you and Chris for the information. A roughly 17% reduction in draw weight is an intriquing proposition, to say the least.

One more question I was wondering about. Why such stiff arrows and heavy piles? It seems every one who has one of these bows shoots stiff arrows for such moderate draw weight.

Joe

The offer stands my friend....where you living now ?

For me they all have required stiffer spined arrows ....... but not really

Because they produce the energy of a heavier bow they require the same spine as such

That and being center shot lends itself to liking a stiffer shaft

Hope that makes sense
