I have hunted with a Pro Fusion 10 pt for the past 8 yrs. It is ok but 7 lbs and I am getting older. I was always fascinated by the more simple Excaliber bow and string. Looking at the bull dog model. Do you think I'd like it better? Lighter weight easier to maneuver? I know,,go handle one and see!

Could you swing an upgrade to a Venom ? I've seen some great deals for new/demos on Ebay.

i really like recurves too, but have found starting out the draw weight that seemed to be no issue. After a year or so and few shooting sessions it gets old.

Went from matrix 380 down to a 355 then down to a matrix 330. Many folks find after about 55 years of age crossbow draw weight starts to matter.

Tenpoint Nitro, Eclipse Rcx and the Carbon Phantom are all really nice bow designs..i.m.o. I would be looking hard at all 3 of those if you like Tenpoint.

Yes you can get a crank fer the Excals, if'en you don't mind usin one then the Sky is the limit on Excals. The big pounders can sling a 400 gr arrow out at very good speed. My Voodoo Queen does 360 fps usin a 400 gr arrow

Just wondering if you looked at the Titan SS or the Turbo GT. When I've gone to Cabelas, I've handled them and they always impressed me. I own nothing but recurves, and they are actually lighter than Excals, but those two Ten Points seem like great bows for the money. Excal's new Bulldog 330 looks interesting, if you are leaning that way.

If you are considering the Bulldog 400, it is a beast to cock. I can cock it but I struggle every time to do it. Just something to consider about the Bulldog. Sighting it in was not fun. Excalibur does makes great bows if you prefer that style.

I have hunted with multiple TenPoints and Hortons over the past 6 years and they are my go to bows for the most part. Reliable, solid, compact, and great customer service if you should ever need it. Plus, TenPoint sits solidly in the corner of crossbow enthusiasts and the crossbow movement by having an active role in promotion of crossbow hunting across this country.

What is your ultimate goal? Of the Excals the Micro's out sell the Matrix and BD series by a lot. They are also stiffer to cock. Like No1 said in an earlier post father time catches up. I'm soon to be 53 and I just unloaded a BD 380 and a Micro. Both were 6 weeks old. The 380 was easier to cock but the power stroke was longer. That 380 is jut as accurate as any bow you can buy. They just dropped a BD 330 that I think will be a fine bow to own as long as you are not a speed freak. That's an all day shooter.

The Ten Points will be more front heavy and heavier in general. But a traditional compound needs some front weight for accuracy. The Eclipse is about as good as it get in their line. Reverse cams with only 140lbs of draw weight gets you 350-360 fps. TP has noticeably improved their triggers.

Both are top notch in customer service!

looked at em. Still all around 7 pounds and the top of the line models way pricy!
Yes but there are about about 6 other models below that which are great bows as well. Your ProFusion weighs about 8 pounds, not 7 as well. As mentioned above, the Turbo and Eclipse are compact, easy to handle bows. If cost is a main focus, the Wicked Ridge bows are more cost effective and light weight.

I think you hit the nail on the head…I love the simplicity of the Excaliburs…they are also real accurate. But they are hard to cock and wide. As we speak I'm going to buy one more crossbow to partner with my Nitro. The Suppressor is real nice but the Eclipse is faster and easier to cock. Plus Ten Point is the best customer service in the industry! Randy Wood makes it simple. Pm him tell him what is happening you get a response immediately and he makes it right! I think my Eclipse will be coming very soon! ( I should have bought yours Ramrod!)

Look at them all. Looks at Mission and Stryker Katanas also. I have a Bulldog 380 and love it. Last year I had a Tenpoint Venom. The Venom was unbelievable as well. I really love the acudraw 50. Tenpoints are heavy. Excals are wide. Both are top notch.

I have a Wicked Ridge Invader G3. With the addition of the Tenpoint Rangemaster, and Jerry’s executioners, that bow is as accurate as my Horton Storm and my Skorpyd up to 60 yards. That’s as far as I’ve ever shot a crossbow. I also added Tenpoint string dampners and side mount quiver bracket.

That package is light and easy to carry in the woods. It also has the built in cocker ropes that stow in the stock.

My Grandson loves that bow. I would seriously consider it. For the bang for the buck you can’t beat it, and not to mention legendary Tenpoint customer service should you ever need it.

I also had a Micro 330 last year and it was a bear for me to cock. Just when I thought I couldn’t cock it, it latched. I only shot it once or twice and I knew I had to sell it.

I think TP has been in the lab cooking some new recipes. At this point I’d hold out to the ATA show. They won’t be inexpensive, but they’ll compete with the new stuff that’s out or coming out. To me the Eclipse right now is their best value.

Played with an Excal Micro Suppressor on Thursday, the 280lb draw is no joke but I was able to handle it at age 62. It shot very nice. Put the crank on it and hated it. Shot it a dozen times it was very accurate. It is a very short framed bow that is capable of nice groups to 50yds. Prefer the trigger on the Stryker.

I am the proud owner of Ramrod's Eclipse and could not be happier. Easy to cock and deadly accurate. I had a $1500 budget and continually went back to the Eclipse for overall value. It is everything I would want in my first crossbow. My hunting partner shoots a Micro and countless times he has said he wishes his was narrower and easier to cock. As far has being heavy, I challenge anyone who has pulled the trigger on a whitetail to remember noticing the weight. Adrenaline makes these weightless. I highly recommend this bow.

Every once in a while I get the urge to buy one of the fastest bows out there. I think do I ever want to deal with the hassle of cams and needing a bow shop then the urge disappears. The Excalibur Matrix 405 has served me well, unless Excalibur comes out with a faster bow I cant see me changing.
