I've been shooting Blazers forever. I'm wanting to build some target arrows for spots and 3d so I went with the Plastifletch Max 2.0 vanes. I had no idea how small these things were. Anybody got any experience shooting these on a fat arrow? I'm shooting 30X Pros. I definitely won't have to worry about wind drift! I've shot high profile vanes for so long that I'm struggling to see how these vanes are going to steer the arrow. Right now I'm just shooting 20 yard Vegas and 5 Spot's, so they ought to be fine.

haven't had great luck with a tiny vane on an indoor arrow set up. The whole idea behind these guys running a 4" hard helical feather is create drag on the rear of the arrow. Bigger vane=more drag. This is a forgiveness factor, when a bad shot is made the big vanes help correct that error faster than a small vane. If thats what you wanna run, have at it. It's not stupid if it works. Fletch 6 with those and 6 with a blazer, 3 or 4" vane and see what the difference is. shoot a few games with each.

I run them in a 4 fletch and they have been working great. You might want to try the Pro Max's for a little bit larger profile.
I fletched 3 arrows with 3 fletch right helical and 3 arrows with 4 fletch right helical. I’m interested to see if I can tell a difference.

I definitely like the 90* 4 fletch with right helical the best. The fly great outside in the wind. Honestly, they were pretty decent indoors at 20 yards too.

have you been running them with fixed blades?

I use these on my GT ultralight 400's and they work fine, even outdoors. that's with 85 grain field points, of course, I dont think these would be suitable for broadheads. Other than that, they're a good low drag, stiff vane. For fatter than my 400's though, they might be a little smaller than you'd want...

Those are too small to get much correction on a 30x. For 3d and indoor i run AAE hybrid 2.6 which is essentially an AAE max stealth with easier to use material. I use 2.0 vanes on x10s with great success but wouldn't use them on anything bigger than a .204 arrow. Just as an aside the bigger the arrow is the more turbulent air it generates around the shaft and that usually requires a taller vane to steer the arrow.
