GOOGLE CHROME TO FLAG SITES WITHOUT SSL CERTIFICATES AND HTTPS AS INSECURE
Over the last two years, rumors have swirled over Google’s position concerning forcing the move to HTTPS encryption.

Last year, Google began officially warning website owners that non HTTPS sites would incur consumer messaging that identified the site as non-secure.

I will not open any non-secure site.

Thanks for the info.

I'm assuming this means that nothing has actually changed with Trad Talk, just that Google has started flagging the issue.

I wonder why I don't get the big red warning on the Leather Wall? It says "insecure" in the address bar but no notice from Google Chrome. The notice on Trad Talk comes across as much more dire.

It's not Chrome that is causing the problem. The problem is TradTalk does not have a valid certificate. Leatherwall just doesn't use SSL/HTTPS so there eventually may be cut off, but is working currently. TradTalk uses HTTPS but does not have a valid certificate for their address. It looks like, from the error I'm getting that whatever group owns TradTalk, owns a bunch of other forums and didn't get TradTalk on the certificate when they renewed it.

This server could not prove that it is tradtalk.com; its security certificate is from classifieds.trailvoy.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.

Proceed to tradtalk.com (unsafe)

Your choice. Until you have too or have gone thru identity theft!

Patience. These are not fault tolerant websites. They probably have a poor admin supporting dozens of boards, and as these are not mission critical, probably don't warrant the type of response you might hope for.
