Which steps have rotating “V” brackets?
If you have never used a stick or stick ladder with rotating brackets your missing out, it makes it so much easier to get good contact with the tree without having to move or twist the stick.

Lone Wolf has rotating V brackets, don't know who else has them, maybe guys that have other brands that rotate can jump in with some suggestions.

Do the lone wolfs rotate left/right on the tree or on the bolt?
The muddy pros rotate on the bolt.

I'm not sure that rotating brackets are a good idea. When you apply a large force to the bottom when climbing up, if the orientation is more horizontally oriented, I think your asking for problems with the stand kicking out. I can't really think of another reason to have a rotation on the v bracket other than trying to orient the sticks more horizontally on a crooked tree?? If you do use those i wouldn't use any device that I couldn't cinch tight to the tree with a rachet type strap either. Just sounds dangerous.
