Thanks for the video. I did that for a while but found I still got tangled or knotted but then I found that a medium retractable dog leash works fantastic as a bow/backpack pull up and you get no tangles or knots and just slip it back in your bag when done.

In the video I was just showing how to wind it up. It is not necessary to wind it up while in the stand unless it is windy and could possible get tangled in branches or you want to minimize scent.

A bit harsh but still kinda funny.

Either way, I found it a useful tip.
(Not exactly a Boy Scout as far as knots are concerned. More like Charlie Brown and his kite! )
Yeah, I'm very "knot challenged" too. I was just being a smart-azz.

30 ft piece of OD Green paracord and a 25# rated carabiner attached to my treestand and clipped on the bottom to a ladder rung or tree step. Pull it taut and it doesn't blow around. Leave them out all year and they will last 5 years. 4$ investment and it never tangles.

Jim, since learning your wind up method Several years ago, I haven’t had a knotted up balled up mess in my pack. I use that method for all sorts of rope winding up tasks also. Clever! Thanks

Do you let it hang while hunting? I eventually got to the point that I pull mine up and stow it until it's time to get down.

that paracord is too small for me, if it slides through my fingers sometimes it might hurt, I like a bigger rope for my bow, just because its easier to let my bow down with
I like small and lightweight but hate burned fingers and gloves. That is why we designed and include the Kentucky slip stopper with our bow ropes. Winding ropes for no tangles can even be done on large diameter ropes and 100' electric cords.
