Are scorpyd cross bows any good?

I want a dependable cross bow!

What about the death stalker?

If you were to buy a scorpyd what would it be?

How is their warranty?
I read you don’t need a press to work on it! This is what I love about the missions and the Excalibur bows!

Do the scorpyd shoot good?

Please help me out. May order one today and need all the help I can get.

I want something dependable, accurate with a good trigger!

How is scorpyd factory trigger?

Any limb, cam, string troubles?
Any tuning or timing troubles?

Do they have lifetime warranty?

Does wyvern creations offer good prices on them?

Are they easy to draw?

Would you reccommend one with the acid draw or the aero draw?

All the help please!

I sold my other mission after getting this Excalibur assasin 360 and had a limb go out on it. Man the trigger and accuracy is amazing if the Excalibur. I just need something else quick. The mission was heavy and I thought the trigger was terrible after shooting Excalibur.

They are super accurate and dependable with a great trigger, and come with a lifetime warranty. No press is required. Deathstalkers are awesome and underrated, though some of the early DS 380's had some issues. Wyvern is a great place to buy from, and Dave Wilkins is super knowledgable. The heavier pounders are NOT easy to cock, due to the long power stroke. If you aren't a gorilla or over 6' tall, a crank is recommended.

I have sold over 600 scorpyd crossbows and with the exception of the strings I have had less than a dozen warranty issues

What about the death stalker?

This bow is a good bow but its a hunting bow, if you want extreme accuracy go with the full size bow, if you want a great hunting bow this is it

If you were to buy a scorpyd what would it be?
The 140, plenty fast enough and lower poundage will be easier on the bow

How is their warranty?

Never had a problem dealing with them on customer warranty issues. Fact is just this week my shop became their warranty center

There are videos on Youtube showing you how to change strings and cables

Do the scorpyd shoot good?

If you are capable you should expect (with matched arrows) 1.5 to 2.0 in groups at 100 yards

One of the best in the industry

Any limb, cam, string troubles?

Strings can be an issue if not cared for, as for the newest bow there has been some issues but I think they have resolved them

Any tuning or timing troubles?

Extremely easy to tune

Do they have lifetime warranty?

Here is the link to the manual http://scorpyd.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Scorpyd-Manual-2017.pdf

Does wyvern creations offer good prices on them?

There are a number of dealers that stay very competitive with each other online

Are they easy to draw?

This is a loaded question, if you are 6ft or over and fairly strong you can draw the 480, with the long cocker and may be able to draw one with a short cocker but its a long draw cycle If you are shorter than 6ft its likely a long cocker wont work so you will need your wheaties!

I love mine. I have owned only Skorpyd, Tenpoint and Excalibur. I like the Skorpyd the most. Although Tenpoints are nice too. The triggers in Skorpyd are way better though.

I am 6’4” tall

Tell me which bow is best for hunting. I am just a hunter but want accuracy and an incredible dependable bow with an amazing trigger!

I don’t care about speed.

I just want a good hunting bow that’s dependable!

I found a brand new death stalker 380 package brand new for a smoking deal with 130 lb limbs????

Y’all say a 140 what’s a 140?

Also which death stalkers have trouble I don’t want to buy any more trouble?

Y’all do not know how much I appreciate your help!

I have an Scorpyd Orion 135, bought in January 2016. Love the ease of cocking and plenty of speed.

Almost 4 years old and not an ounce of trouble so far

I shot a DS380 for a while and now shoot a DS420. As long as it is not a 1st generation DS380 that has not had the upgrades it should be a great bow and easy to cock with just the long rope cocker. Mine shot as good as an Excalibur of which I owned 3 at that time. Best trigger in the industry that I have seen.

110 to 150 pounds is all you need. You can’t go wrong with the Aculeus. That would be my pick of the three. Keep your arrows under 400fps and you will have a deer killing machine. Currently setting up a 110 Aculeus, Shooting a 448gr @ 342fps. Will let me just about shoot any mechanical. In this case it is going to be a GR Whitetail Special.

Is the death stalker 420 better then the 380?

If so why?

Thanks!

What’s the difference between it and the new nemis or whatever it’s called?

I am hoping Excalibur steps up and send me a new head to get me going so I can be patient and get me a scorpyd as well!

I would go with the DS 420 if it were me. That's the current equivalency to the DS Grim Reaper edition and its the lightest, fastest, quietest shock free crossbow out there since its made from mostly carbon in the riser and stock.

If you want the most solid bow and you are getting older I would go with the 140 Nemesis with the crank. The pull on the Nemesis is long and hard. The 180 is about at the edge of many's abilities to cock since it hits you right at the point of pulling the ropes to pushing them like a clean and jerk with a bar bell.

That being said though there is a Silver Vent for sale or was last time I looked at 150@ and that's the bench mark of Scorpyd accuracy for many of us. I currently own 4 of them (going to sell one eventually) but for now I have 4. I sold off my TenPoints and eliminating my remaining Excals. Don't get me wrong I love Excals but for my hunting I need the reach of the reverse draw and velocity it provides. Lower limb weights mean less stress on the system too. To get the speeds Scorpyds produce other makers have to add 25-50 pounds more to their limbs plus preload them like Ravin and Ten Point are doing.

So just hunting and with in 50 yard or 40 yards especially...Death Stalker. Other than that look at the Nemesis.

100's of kills … and never missed a trip into the woods! Nearly zero maintenance and no repairs.

The DS420 is a lot faster than the 380 and is fairly easy to cock. I am about to turn 70 and have had rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder and my left one is beyond hope of recovery according to my Orthopedic Surgeon but I have no problems cocking mine still using a long rope cocker.

Which is better hunting bow the death stalker or the nemesis 140?

I just want dependable, accurate, good trigger, easy to cock. And hunting with a heavy arrow I am not a bench or tournament shooter. I just want to kill big deer!

I absolutely love my assassin 360 I didn’t get 40 shots till it popped but man I’ve talked to numerous folks who have a 1000 or more shots on theirs no problems I just got a fluke. Excalibur customer service is terrible to get ahold of I don’t like that but man that bow flat out shoots for the 40 shots I got to shoot it.

I see wyvern creations has the bows in stock and some nice package deals ready to rock. How is that soft touch black? That would be my choice probably!

I just need to decide on a bow and get er going?

How are the death stalker arrows I know Jerry is wide open and be hard to get some spynal tapps for it before my trip. I believe if I ordered a bow package today from Dave I would have it by Monday! He is super fast on shipping etc.

I just hate to drop more money on a bow but then again who knows how long excalibur is gonna be.......
