I was wandering if there is a safe way to carry arrows with broadhead's other than a bow quiver. I have been looking getting a Selway longbow quiver and was curious if there are other safe options to carry arrows with broadhead when hunting. If there is it would be interesting to know why you may or may not like them better than a bow mounted quiver.

During my compound days (1989 - 1997) I hunted with an EW Bateman Outback side quiver (with a few modifications), and was always very happy with it. I never liked a bow quiver on my compounds because they made the whole contraption too dang heavy and awkward: Poor balance for shooting, more sources of noise and vibration, more stuff to catch on the brush while I was still hunting, etc. EW Bateman still sells the Outback.

When I went back to traditional in 1997, I found that my recurves were just too light, and that a bow quiver with 6 arrows in it made it more stable to shoot, and quieter too.

I am currently playing around with metal ILF risers, which are quite a bit heavier than wooden recurve risers. If I start hunting with a metal ILF riser, I will probably go back to the Bateman side quiver.

What I do now is put a very dense round foam that last for quite a long time in the bottom and I furnish a couple extras to replace the damaged one.....Its easy to replace because the round piece of leather that the foam rides on is riding on a ridge inside the quiver and all you have to do is push up from the bottom and remove it, then slide the new one in....I was taught how to do that from another vendor at Tannehill, AL and it works like a charm......BTW, It fits down onto the leather bottom that you can use for field points...…..

I've tried several different styles. I keep coming back to a bow mounted quiver. For me it's easier to move through the brush. The public land I hunt on is so over run with invasive weeds, plants and trees that anything else creates so much frustration for me.

After years of going back and forth with different quiver options, I always go back to a bow quiver, and I always modify them to my liking.
I'll only use a two piece quiver and mount it close to the risers of help with torque and arrow flight and balance.

Bow mounted I’d go Thunderhorn Linx...love them but I really like a bow mounted quiver for traditional. When I shot compound I didn’t like the bow mount quiver so I used the catquiver with the smallest pack on the top. It did work great!!

Got a Ben Pearson 1960's? on ebay. About 16" long, 3" round at the top, 2 separate shoulder straps. Stiff, cheap leather, P.O.S. in my opinion. Not picky though. OK for fast shooting. Seems like arrows might fall out.
