Well I sure won’t keep wasting my time and money testing them anymore. I think I proved my point, now that I have seen that picture and I understand that they Feradyne is going to point the finger right back at me.

Plus, I now have enough Rage heads and collars to hunt deer for a few years if I don’t use them all up testing. Next season I will do all my hunting with a bow anyway, not just deer. Starting with turkey this spring. New toy, you know how it goes.

Anyway here are those first three videos I promised. They are 5 shots each @ 20 yards. One field point, then 4 Rage heads.

First group, not shimmed, one wild flyer to the left:

Second group, with shims, no wild flyers although I did throw one out to near the edge of the 6 inch “kill zone” (my fault)

Third group, no shims. Again, a wild flier to the left:

@The Phantom of what I can get local, the rage is probably the best. And by local I mean even if I drive all the way to bass pro 60 miles away.

I can get no collar rage heads at bass pro and in the local archery shop but the shock collar design pops open even on my foam target. You can guarantee they will open just need to take an extra step to be sure they will close.

They penetrate good too. I have two backstops for a reason.

I might still go for some of the no collar trypan +p heads.

I like to walk in the store and replace things without any hassle, so I will probably stick with the Rage. But for now I have so many that replacement is a non issue.

Sure, I would like to try a fixed single bevel. But in my limited experience I am only getting fixed heads so close to my field tips, and I have my arrow rest so far to the right that my riser is in my sight picture in the right side of my peep. Have to shoot an arrow at least as long as the end of my riser just to keep shooting them. And I can’t stand that.

I’d rather find center shot and run with what will work for me.

Personally I really like the old o ring models.. I hate the shock collar design. The problem was they would come open if you put them to far in the quiver or when stalking if you hit something with head… There is really no perfect mechanical head and the one problem is one head for all speeds.. I shot sevr 1.5 and in all I really like them but 3 problems with head 1 o ring does take some force to break free 2 the locking blade design does have friction as the 2 blades rub together before it locks.. Some heads were not bad others caused a lot and that was with out o ring installed just testing by hand.. 3rd the tabs on locking mechanism would bent on impact of animal and cause blade not to close anymore.. 4 deer same problem… I am going to use them again this year but I will polish tabs where they rub on opening and test different o rings to see what one opens easier… As far as blades not closing I am fine replacing blade every time.. Did mean to high jack thread but people always say shoot this head or this head instead .. if you like design tinker with shock collar till you find what works best you..
