Hi folks. I have an RX7 on order and am thinking about buying a picatinny sight. What are the advantages if any of picatinny sights vs regular?
Apart from clearly having the effect of moving the scope gang assembly further left (for right hand shooters) - is this good?, freeing up the riser mounting holes and looking cool, are there any other real advantages? I currently have an Axcel Carbon Pro Accutouch sight that I love as I can easily slide it back and forth or even take it out, but trying to decide if its worth investing another $5-600 hard earned dollars (why do they have to be so darn expensive LOL!) on a sight like the Axcel Landslyde. Please educate me! Thanks!

I have shot both and if someone handed me one at a time without me seeing how they are mounted then I would not be able to tell a difference as far as function in shooting. You could offset the balance changes with stabilizer positioning if using a rear stabilizer

Potential advantages can be moving the quiver in tighter to the bow for better balancing and less weight on the back bar to offset sight and quiver weight. I say potentially because depending on quiver and sight attachment there can be a lot of gain or little gain. If your quiver has to be far away from the riser and you need a lot of offset weight it will probably be worth it in the long run. If not, the juice may not be worth the squeeze...

Thanks guys. I may order an Axcel Landslyde with the new really nice Axcel AVX scope. A lot of people are getting Ultraview scopes to replace the Axcel scope on this sight but after doing lots of research on this, I am not a fan of the Ultraview scope - but I have to say I do like the neat Iphone like packaging it comes in LOL. Thanks again.

I bought a Ventum Pro this year and went with a Picatinny mount Landslyde to check out Hoyt’s In-Line setup. I doubt I could tell the mass/balance difference between a conventional sight and the pic-mount sight with my eyes closed, but I do appreciate how closely I’ll be able to mount my quiver to the riser. It’s also nice to have less “stuff” bolted to the riser, but that’s just me.

Closer quiver mounting and it just looks cleaner.

Really like the picatinny mount. And when it comes fitting my 1 piece qd superlite tight to riser.
And for sure just looks crisp and clean.
