I shot a raccoon in the face once with a muzzy, right between the eyes, no joke. Bent the ferrule on the Muzzy I was using. The raccoon did not take kindly to that encounter fwiw

Not to be rude but if he hit it in the right spot, it’d be dead. I’ve heard plenty of guys say they had “perfect shots” that actually hit heavy bone or missed vitals because of poor shot angle. The scar being in the sweet spot doesn’t necessarily mean the shot was good. Is there video to back up these claims? Was it a pass through? Do you have a pic of the exit scar?
We don’t have heavy bone in South Carolina. If he got a pass thru it would be dead. The arrow deflected.

probably a newer muzzy....the old ones under original owners were a lot better

it's interesting when people stick to their guns despite issues arising and better solutions existing
What if they're sticking to their guns because they've never had any issues? There's no need to lay down your guns and go searching for a "better solution" when what you're using hasn't failed you or let you down. I'm not going to alter my set up because of results someone else is getting.

Talked to a friend yester that just returned from a Colo private land elk hunt. Seven guys killed six bulls. They found a Rage in the front shoulder of one bull and a Rage in the spine of another. He said both were 2” Rage. Both animals were apparently hit last fall or earlier as both bulls were healed up and walking normally. Just fyi.

How do you know these were rage? I’ve killed 10 plus deer with a rage BH. Never, not once did it not deploy and leave a devastating wound channel. Same for almost every BH on the market with good shot placement. Sure, some are tougher and better built, but any new out of package broadhead will kill any deer alive, I promise

He doesn't know; he saw it on another site and they didn't know, either. He also hasn't come back to discuss it further.

I have never so much as held a Rage in my hand, but these threads are nauseating at this point.

I guess I am guilty of encouraging these types of threads since I am posting in this mess but I KNOW for a fact it comes down to getting the most energy from the bow as in draw weight one can shoot well and an appropriate arrow and good shooting. Once that is all dialed in any decent BH should get the job done.

There was a time when I hunted with someone who could not get this stuff under control. He shot light arrows with big blades and didn't practice enough. I helped him look for two deer in one week and we didn't find either one.

We don't hunt together any more.

I guess I only "know" that they were rage based on what strangers on the internet said, however much certainty you want to place in that 🤷‍♂️ ...I don't have any reason to call the individuals that posted those pics liars.

Sorry I didn't respond back to this thread in a timely enough manner to suit you; occasionally I get distracted by the real world and don't have time to be glued to archerytalk whining about how threads that I find repetitive make my tummy hurt.

I was just hoping to draw you back to a thread YOU started and others have been discussing.
I see that you're not a regular contributor, so your absence now makes sense. No biggie.

Me too… went on a rampage on them that night, that one was skewered from between the eyes and exited between back legs with a 3 blade muzzy, and it made it probably 40yds
