I've been using the XT Hunters a long time. From when they were still listed 5575, etc.
Just backyard target and hunting.
Great shafts. Never bought pre-assembled and cut my own.
Still using my last batch of black 7595.

Shot my new XT’s a bunch today. Quite happy with my decision to go this route.
Far too much emphasis on all the new catchy tech related jargon designed to lighten our wallets as stated above. Done with that.
Pointy on one end, fletching on the other. Works for me.

If you are building the arrows just buy the xt's and cut off from each end and save some money and basically have the same arrows.

Hey hobbs, how's Calvin doing anyways. I've been shooting Gold Tip arrows for quite a few decades and don't see a reason to change. I have never shot Pros mostly XTs, My main arrow is called a Gold Tip Cut Downs; they are arrows that didn't make the cut at 32" and they took the 1" imperfection off, making arrow length 31" length (my preferred length). These arrows are outstanding; spine, straightness and weight.

XTs are one of the unsung heroes of the arrow world! Tough, low cost and PROVEN on every type of animal… the
30-06 of arrows.
I agree with this! I used them for many years and a then a buddy of mine convinced me last year to try one of the micro diameter arrows and although the skinny ones shot well and penetrated the deer very well, they were not as durable as the XT’s I wasn’t as confident with them, and they cost twice as much. I’ll go back to my bread and butter Hunter XT arrows!
Thanks everyone!

I always buy the pros because they are not much more expensive. Honestly, I would be fine with the xt and with my abilitys, I would never know the difference.
That's what I was getting at......if you have the money and it's "your sport" there certainly is no harm in it and many times I do that as well because I'm not worried about the extra cost.........but I'm not expecting big changes either..........just some piece of mind really.

The nice thing, if you buy the regular xt’s, when you miss, you can always blame the straitness of the arrows;-)

I have a half dozen XT’s and a dozen Pro’s. 300 spine with the 50 grain aluminum insert. The Pros are $2 a shaft more at my local shop so usually just buy the Pro’s. My shop lets me spin the shafts and I’ll buy all the ones that spin like glass. The XT’s are good and you can both ends were most of the run out is. They will spin good as well.

I just built a dozen XTs for a friend and full length, 4 could pass as Pro, 7 had wobble on one end only and was mostly cut off. Making 8 of the arrows glass. One was a turd with significant runout on both ends. Couldn’t clean that one up, only cutting to 28.5”. I’m going to number his arrows but not tell him which is the turd and see if he can notice a difference. He’s a pretty average shot, so we’ll see.

I remember buying arrows at Lancaster years ago. The senior tech, Dale (still there 👍) cut from both ends of an XT to make what he considered to be a premium arrow. Seen it mentioned in this thread as well.

This is the reason I stopped using Goldtip arrows. You will probably not see a difference what so ever! Just don't check them for straightness and you will be fine. Buy the XT's and save some money. The Pro's are the same arrow and do NOT live up to their advertised .001 straightness. Hell, if you are going to stay with Goldtip go with the Hunter's.

Goldtips quality control department has been fired! Now I've got to figure out how to cover up my Goldtip tattoo?(kidding) but I shot Goldtip for a long time then I got a batch or two of Pro's that were so out of spec they couldn't pass for the Hunter Shaft.
If this is indeed true, a call to gold and they would have replaced them for yea.
