This is something I've been thinking about for a while. I saw an ad for a 3D Scanning app, and decided to give it a shot. 5 minutes of scanning and 12 hours of printing and here's what I've got! A desk-sized version of my own deer!

Thought the group would enjoy seeing it. Who wants one? :)

pretty cool, several guys around here doing that already - not sure exactly what program, but on guy did a replica of his B&C mountain lion skull, it was insanely cool.....

I used Luma AI to scan the skull, Your phone might need a LIDAR function to use it. I used an iPhone 13 Pro.

If someone wants one, and you're near SW Wisconsin, once season is over, I can stop and scan your skull, or if you've got the capabilities, scan it and send it to me. I'd charge $50 while I'm dialing in my settings and printing methods, then more from there. If y'all are serious and want one, I'd consider it! I'm in the middle of moving houses (which majorly cuts into hunting, I don't recommend) so it'd be a bit. Also I'd need to know what color you'd want. I think I'm going to play around with wood-infused PLA as a material. Disclaimer, it doesn't like the sun or water... or the cold too much.

So is this only if you have a skull mount of a deer? You would scan an existing skull mount then print out a mini version of that mount?
Yup! A shoulder mount could also be scanned and printed. So maybe more of a supplement to taxidermy, not an alternative.

I've done a lot of 3D printing and I'm most impressed by the lack of support structure used during printing or your ability to clean it up afterwards

It's a combination of the latest version of Cura and the intentional hiding of the support interface. Ha! Thanks though!

I really need update cura. I haven't done any complex prints in a while. My utilitarian and I just engineer nothing to over hang beyond 50 degrees fo no support
