Firstly, I like to tinker, so I have been shooting a 4-fletch heat with a helical. I rotate between iron will, black hornets, and slick trick Grizz tricks and start to have issues with the black hornets at 40+ and the Grizz tricks have some problems at around 40. so likely the next easiest thing to do is to get a slightly higher vane profile. (YES MY BOW IS TUNED) these are the 2 that people generally recommend for fixed heads. I have some blazers but they really are louder than most vanes.

I've personally never been a fan of the Max Stealth (and I'm a dealer). I have yet to try the DCA Vanes but if I were to try one of those 2 I'd be doing DCA.

How fast are you shooting?
should be in the low 290's based off a calculator.

I haven't been impressed with the Super Sabres. I tried the original and the new 2.0 version and they just don't fletch up as well as AAE Max or Q2i. I like the Max Stealth and Max Hunters in 3 fletch and the Pro Max in 4 fletch.

Got half dozen Gold Tip Pierce Platinum DCA wrap 4 fletched DCA Super Sabre's and shooting a Magnus Stinger Buzz Cut with not problems out to 40yds. My bow isn't the fastest though Mathews Hyperlite and last I scaled the bow it was at 63-65# instead of 70# (apparently my string stretched according to the bow "tech"). Only adhesion problem I had was with one vane and not sure what caused it but it came off the wrap clean and was able to scuff it with 600 grit sand paper and glue in a new one no problem. Prep was put wrap on arrow, clean with AAE Max wipe, clean vanes with 70% alcohol let dry then AAE primer pen then AAE glue (yes my vane prep was probably overkill but I was tinkering).

was looking also at the Q2i fusion-II, since they are .55" high. I like how everyone says how well they adhere to the arrow but i don't have anyone with any personal experience with them.
Buddy had them on his last arrows from Sirius Archery, Apollo shafts 4 fletch. No problems, no complaints, no failures accurate arrows steered his fixed single bevels just fine through a couple different deer.

Had problems with adhesion on the DCAs. Tried Gorilla Gel followed by Loctite 401. Finally BoB Smith Industries Maxi Cure Extra Thick has worked 100%. I like the vanes a lot. I was using the same prep I always have on other vanes. Simple clean everything with isopropyl alcohol, wipe the base of the vane, let it dry and fletch it in my arizona mini.

So any opinions on doing a 4 fletch with the DCA Super Saber? I did it just because to see how they work and I know they say that they are really designed for steering heavy fixed blade broadheads in a 3 fletch. I can say I'm happy with my Magnus Stinger 100gr, 125gr and black Hornet 100gr ot to 40yds just fine.
Wonder if I went overkill?

According to Kyle that designed the Super Sabre 4 fletch is not needed or recommended even though he would love to sell more vanes. He says they are designed and perform best 3 fletched. If they are working for you then run with them.

I don't think the Super Sabres can be beat, maybe if you care about shooting 100 yards or whatever lol But if you want to stabilize a fixed blade and do it quickly they are the gold standard. I shoot them in the Arizona mini helical which they weren't really designed for. Accuracy is superb at distances I practice.

The Fusion-ii vanes are great, but I found the Rapt-X to be quieter and steer just as well.

I really like the max stealth vanes. What do you all have against them?
Some people don't like having to use a primer pen, some people think they're too heavy. I like the Max Stealths and Hunters a lot. I don't care for the Hybrid vane material. The Super Sabres look cool, but I couldn't come up with any real reason to keep using them, and had adhesion issues with the originals and had the bases wrinkle on the newer version. Just not worth it when the AAE and Q2i vanes work so well.
