I've used blazers, bullies, and black skies. The DCAs seemed to do a better job stabilizing 150gr Valkyrie Blood Eagles to farther distances. I think you're right. Broadheads do tend to be the source of more noise, particularly vented fixed blades. Solids are quieter. With that being said, some vanes are definitely louder than others. 3 fletch vs 4 fletch also makes a difference. This was an interesting test.

Have you tried broadheads with the mini sabers? I would think a 4 fletch would fly a decent sized broadhead but I’ve yet to have any opportunity to test that personally

Yes. I just shot some this morning. I shot both grim reaper fatal steels and micro hades pros with the mini sabres in a 3 fletch left helical out of my Alpha X 33 that is pulling right at 83#. They're hitting with my field points out to 60 yards.

My big issue with tac vanes is their extreme memory if they get bent or rippled. Might as well reflecth the arrow because in my personal experience they won’t straighten out

I am also curious. I fletched several dozen arrows using the AAE Max Bond and AAE Primer Pen back when Kyle was recommending the blue cap Loctite, before he started recommending and selling Bob Smith's Maxi-Cure. I'm still shooting those arrows and haven't yet had any come off without the vane itself being torn from going through targets.
Just a heads up, got my Mini Sabres yesterday and used AAE Primer Pen and AAE Max Bond. I haven't shot them a lot yet, but for the little bit of shooting I have done they seem like they are attached very well. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but I use ORACAL 651 as a wrap so they are being glued to that instead of directly to the shaft.

I'm curious behind your reasoning of not using the AAE Max Bond with the DCA vanes. I just ordered some Mini Sabres to try out and only have AAE Max Bond right now.
They specifically note not to use the Max Bond on their website. That being said I have done so before. The vanes adhered okay, but did pull off easier than Max Stealths do.

Interesting info. I tried the Super Sabre 2.0 after having adhesion issues with the originals. I experienced the base wrinkling and poor adhesion with the 2.0s as well and gave up on them. I was thinking it was maybe the extreme helical of the Mini Max jig but maybe it was because I was using Max Bond at the time.

All I had was Tac Pen/Glue and AAE Pen/Max Bond and used the AAE Pen/Glue. As long as I used the pen they adhered fine to the DCA wrap I used. Think I stated earlier about having to pull through a bag target and while it did bugger up the wrap and bend up the vanes they were still stuck

Thanks for the info! I didn't see this on their packaging for the vanes but its likely that I overlooked it while reading. We'll so how it goes with the Max Bond I guess:LOL: As of right now I've shot the 3 test arrows that I fletched with the mini sabres a few times and they seem to be holding pretty nicely with the max bond. I did use the AAE Prep pen. I don't know if that makes a difference but time will tell.

In my experience they will fletch just fine if you use the primer. Not as well as with some other cyanoacrylate adhesives, but good enough to get the job done. If I recall correctly, DCA had some issues with the Super Sabre V1 sticking properly. My wild guess is that they believe it had something to do with AAAE MAX Bond.

I've not heard anyone else complain about vane adhesion, since they've come out with the v2.

The originals they had issues with the release agent from the mold getting on the bases causing adhesion issues.
