Woke up Saturday morning (7/6) with no free time for the week. Dozens of people are coming over for a twin birthday, pool party and I'm planting, painting, and a zillion other things in preparation for the looks from judgmental moms that will be in attendance. Thought to myself, busy week...perfect for my MANDO test. MANDO is the masculine counterpart to LUME, a cream deodorant. Used it as directed and now, Day 5 of my test i am convinced this stuff is better for hunting than anything i have tried. I'm working, sweating every day wearing the same tee shirt, sweat pants, shoes and even the same socks. Wife says I don't stink. Usually after such a day of manual labor I am in the shower with a scowL cuz i can't stand myself...radiating a scent only imaginable on Game of Thrones. Gonna give till this Saturday (day of the event) before I shower but at this point I am amazed. i reapplied on Tuesday and will do that again on Friday. I'm a tough customer to impress...amazement is rare.

i’m always skeptical of these scent cover up things. Just look at the dog tests where they find the hunter and about five seconds.

A buddies buddy swears he has a product that works…I will be testing it in the swirling Mountain winds on my elk hunt

I will know by mid Sept. I have 4-5 buddies testing this...anecdotal, so you never know for sure, kind of like the guys that swear by Scent Blocker clothing- I have a buddy in Kansas, swears it works.

Testing is not scientific but enough different locations and hunt styles that we should get an idea. Good news is you can probably make it yourself.

I'm pondering a person's diet. Consider one's diet. A book on the Vietnam War said the Vietnamese thought Americans smelled like spoiled meat due to the high consumption of meat. The Americans claimed the VN could be smelled by their use of nuoc mam, a fermented/rotted fish sauce. A school teacher said an east Indian child had the odor of curry. Makes you wonder, huh?

This is exactly why I only eat White Oak acorns from September to February.

But in all seriousness @Where's Bruce? , still digging it? I’m curious about the unscented line of stick deodorant. I currently use unscented Arm and Hammer or Speed Stick deodorant and unscented Ivory body wash/shampoo on a daily basis. I definitely can/will sweat through the deodorant and start smelling funky by the end of a work day or hunt, so you have my attention with this stuff. I’m not big into scent products at all really as far as hunting goes, but obviously the less you can smell like BO or “Ocean Breeze” scent, the better.

$15 for a single stick of deodorant is steep!

Quick decision update.. ordered 6 sticks lol. This link is to a three pack on sale for $33, and you can use July20 for 20% off of $30, or July30 for 30% off of $60. I used the 30% code and my 6 sticks came out to $49.26, shipping was free. Not a terrible deal at $8.21 per stick, I suppose that’s relatively competitive in today’s market. If it truly works better than others, it would be worth the extra buck or two to not smell myself in the stand.

On Friday I had some funk...far less than I would otherwise have using soap and regular deodorant but definitely some stink after a week with one reapplication on the previous Tuesday. I showered Saturday morning effectively ending my test. Overall I am convinced this product, combined with a proper merino and/or polygiene base layer will greatly reduce my level of funk in the field. It outlasts regular stick deodorants by a mile.

I’ve always wondered if it wasn’t the pheromones that are detected vs the bacterial stink?
A thinking man ^...I like it.

I am super skeptical of foolling a critters nose...in fact my buddy slammed me complaining about the swirling mountain wind currents around a couple wallows we found when I was thinking, "No way"

I've had hog dogs kill a skunk....then 15 minutes later wrecking so bad my eyes were watering they found a hog. I've seen that happen probably 15 times.

So I'm very skeptical about anyone or any product that claims to beat the nose of a critter. Coverup- I doubt it. Deodorant- No way. Ozone- maybe but it covers a % but not all.

A friend of a friends idea is a bit novel- I'm skeptical but will see for myself.

I've been told I smell of Bubba Kush and Chicken Wings, so I'm a believer.

I'll admit, I'm a fan. However it doesn't cover up glitter and strawberry vanilla lotion.

Wearing a metatarsal gland necklace hasn't failed me yet. My Dad's a Vietnam Vet and showed me how to make one.

There is no substitute for working the wind but if you've ever shared a tent with a badly BO'd bro...this is something you wanna pack...for a friend.
