Looking MUCH better than subalpine..

Should be a much better early season pattern for whitetail hunters, also a great turkey pattern to boot.

Release Date: 9/09.

I spent some time on the website. I am baffled at the decision to put this green camo pattern out in stratus and Fanatic. All the leaves have turned colors and dropped by the time those come out of my closet in November. Sticking with the sets I have in EV2.

Big miss there Sitka!

The traverse pants and possible Equinox hoody (if they choose to offer in this green color?) have my interest for turkey season though.

It perfect for the southeast. Millions of acres of pine plantations and leaves stay on the trees almost year round.

The whole concept of the camo was based on the southern us. I’m still gunna rock sub apline because I feel it’s the most versatile pattern for the south and west.

That fanatic jacket though. Ya ordered one already. Ev2 is pointless down south with everything being green. I also can’t stand all the blue in it, the number one color deer see.

I need to find my ground forest jacket in the closet it’s very similar lol. I don’t wear it much had it for years. Camo ain’t all that important I will say I wish Sitka would go to a more asat style pattern. I got caught standing in the open glassing the far ridge opening morning this season and cow and calf came off the top and walked within 6 feet of me the calf I could have grabbed I was wearing Vuni shirt vest and hat with a pair of solid pants. Definitely didn’t move much and wind was good but I think there’s something to the vertical contrast of Vuni, asat and old school predator gear.

I’ve been wearing EVII pattern from early season through the last day of deer season with no problems for several years. I live in central NC and have never had a problem with deer seeing me regardless of what month it is.

Would I love to buy some of the new pattern just because? Sure! But I have other things that need to be purchased so I won’t be buying for quite some time, if I even buy at all…

Going to be a contrarian here. I live and hunt in N Georgia in a mixture of hardwoods and pines. Aside from very early in hunting season, I think subalpine is better. The new camo is too dark for later months. Once rifle season commences in October, the leaves are falling and subalpine is superior. In November/December/January, subalpine or EV2 blends in better.

Well I was starting to second guess myself so I pulled out my fanatic jacket and bibs, and looked for a blue colour. So it looks like I am one of the ones who don't see blue on the EV2 pattern, the only thing that would be close is maybe the grey's but they are still grey. I highly doubt Sitka would put out a whitetail specific pattern with colours that deer can see. There was a lot of thought and work that went into the creation of the fanatic system. They wouldn't make a major mistake like that..I know I'm going to get heat for the following statement but maybe the people who see blue don't have the EV2 pattern and are only going off of picture's or they are maybe a little colour blind.

It's a sweet pattern. But to my eyes it's a blue/grey color.
I have Subalpine on my bow and it looks killer IMO, but I don't like it on clothing, despite the good user reviews.
I use the Cabelas camo on Berber fleece and Wooltimate gear, not the most visually appealing camo, but I've never had a problem being busted.

Minnesota bow and rifle hunter here. I ditched my stratus jacket earlier this year because I got the fanatic jacket as a birthday gift from my wife. I felt that I would be fine with a stratus vest, but have yet to purchase it yet. I was heavily leaning towards this new pattern but given it wasnt designed for the midwest, I think I'll elect for EVII or in Subalpine. Curious to know what folks think about this entire line of thinking (new pattern, ditching the jacket for vest, and EV2 vs Subalpine)

MN here and the Stratus set in EVII is the best whitetail system IMO. Can layer under it with Fanatic hoodie and puffy jacket and throw a Fanatic vest over the top. I only break out the Fanatic jacket when real cold. I try to stay in the Stratus as long as possible.

Subalpine is useless as a whitetail hunter in the midwest.

Cover is by far the best early season. I still have 95% EV II that I like for when the leaves fall.

Don't care much for Stratus, sold mine. Like the Equinox Hoodie better for early to mid season, then switch to Fanatic from there.. Fanatic Jacket is a bowhunters dream.

STRONGLY disagree….

cover is way way too dark in the Midwest. (KS, MO, IA, NE, OK, AR) the subalpine is a much much better pattern. Early season with the green and dried leaves (brown) is much much much better.

this cover pattern is a very niche color

I’d prefer to see more options for the subalpine myself. It is far far more versatile
