Finished setting up my new Carbon EON at the shop today. I picked it up on Tuesday. I wanted to set the draw length and letoff myself. 30.5” and about 80% letoff. I also mounted my VaporTrail Gen 7X with a Firenock hollow titanium screw. Just needed the shop for the loop and peep. Once we got the peep tied in, I shot through paper. Bullet hole. Shot a bare shaft through the paper a few times. Not enough of a tear to mess with until she’s broke in. Checked a fletched arrow again. Perfect. So, tuned up super easy. No adjustments were made. This bow feels less like a carbon bow than the PSE’s I’ve had. More dead, closer to aluminum. Just a touch of feedback that went away when I added my short hunting stab. Plenty quiet. Draw cycle is smooth considering the performance mods. A bit more hump and dump than I’m used to but I didn’t expect this bow to feel like my SS34. The 50# peak weight Elites that I’ve owned are almost too easy. This bow is no exception. I could see going 60# with smooth mods and turning down a little if I needed. When they release a longer ata version, I’m probably going 60#. Bow balances and holds well considering my light setup. Did a quick rough sight in at about 8 yards in the basement. Arrows were slapping. I’ll know more when I can shoot at distance. 50# @ 30.5” sending a 433 grain Gold Tip Force FOC @ 259 fps. Seems about the same as most of my other 50# bows considering the generous brace height.

That's pretty solid speeds for dw and dl op. I'm curious if elite will offer a 33 in their carbon line one day. Congratulations on your purchase, they make a great shooting and looking carbon bow. Hoping to see a few out in the wild during 3d shoots this year. God bless you men.

At first I wasn't too keen on the Elite Era/Eon but the look is growing on me and the specs/reviews are impressive. Seems like a bit of a sleeper bow that people overlook. I'm hoping my local Elite dealer has one in stock to shoot.

Why are you selling off your Primes? Changing brands?

I just don't seem to shoot them as well as my Bowtech. I don't know if it's a grip shape thing, or a center grip thing or what. I REALLY want to love them because their finishes are top notch and I really like the draw on the Core cams, but it just seems like I'm not as consistent with them.

I haven't owned an Elite, but the ones I shot feel very similar to my SR6. I shot an Omnia, Kairos, and Ethos at my shop but never had a chance to try the Era/Eon. I've got an itch for a carbon bow but the Hoyt, PSE, and Bowtech ones just don't do it for me.

Gotcha. Its amazing how we all fall to something different. I had an EnVision & Omnia, liked them both but the Omnia was aggressive for my shoulder (thanks ARMY lol). I LOVE my Primes but honestly....Im getting bored with them. I'm looking at a Sequel 33 ST2 (hoping for a carbon'ish offering from them). Also hoping Elite drops another 32"-34" flagship bow that I cant live without.

I've got some back/shoulder/neck issues from the Marines which isn't great for shooting. Drawing 70 pounds isn't a problem, but repeated shooting at that weight is not good for me. The Primes at 65# with standard mod feels good, and my SR6 in Performance at 60# feels good (and both shoot about the same speed at those specs). I've never had a problem with my SR6 but just want to find something else I like as well. I mostly saddle hunt for whitetail so a small, maneuverable bow would be ideal, but I like the string angles of 32-34" bows. From what I saw on the Era/Eon is that the string angle is similar to many of the longer ATA bows despite it's shorter ATA.

A bit less mass weight for my occasional elk trips would be nice, and the carbon riser not getting cold in late season would also be nice.

Also, worth noting is that these carbon risers feel a lot more substantial than the two PSE Carbons I’ve owned. I’d say it feels closer to aluminum in a tactile sense. The grip is just excellent.

I got to hold an Era today but the shop tech was on vacation so couldn't shoot it. They had an Eon there as well. I think I'd rather get the Eon if I had a choice.

They do feel good. Like a lighter/softer feeling aluminum bow.

I'll go back next week and hopefully shoot both.
