Mini-genisis

My lil nephews...
I had this lil dude a bow since day he was born...
He tells me a couple weeks ago... He wants a bow... I tell him, well you already have a bow..
He then continues in his own lil way to tell me he wants a bow like uncle "Joe joe"... well let me tell you, sure like to think I'm tough, but that made me the biggest softy ever.. I immediately got him hooked up! lol.
No- He does not look through the peep
No- He does not look at the sight
No- He does not have a clue what the stab and side rods are
But
Yes- he draws past his ear...
Yes- he misses every other arrow
Yes- Im upsessed with my lil dude... :)

I would recommend the mini-genesis as well. If the kid wants a bow to shoot like dad does, then he may not be happy with a toy. That depends on the kid, though, so you are the best one to answer that.

If you get the mini-genesis, don't put sights or anything on it yet, Just get him a rest that will be easy to use (like a whisker biscuit) and a finger tab. Put a target up for him at maybe 5 yards and let him go to it. Work on proper form and technique after his muscles and his attention span grow.

I bought my son a Mini-Genesis for his 3rd birthday. Put a Whisker Biscuit on it, turned it all the way down and let him plink
My son has been shooting since he was 3, but at age 4 he recieved his miniGenesis. If you search on "treestand bowhunt" on youTube you will see my son Robbie at age 5 shooting his miniGenesis in the woods.

I vote for the miniGenesis

my daughter has been shooting her stick bow since she was three, picked up a recurve at the local shop and they upgrade the string for it.
The thing i did was attatch a piece of wire around the shelf so the arrow could not come around or fall off, it is big enough so the arrow flys clean..
attatch it to the limb and below the shelf "C" shaped:confused: hope that made sense

bought my 3 yr old son the Martin Tiger and he does great with it set at it's lowest 10lbs. At full draw it is too long for him and hard to keep away from his face. Getting him to stop short of full draw is tough. I hold the bow for him and he pulls it back by himself. Quickly stopped using the finger tab and it gets to be too much for a 3yr old to concentrate on. The arrow capturing riser on the Tiger is pricess and sure makes it a lot safer. My 6yr old daughter also shoots it and it is PERFECT for her.

I bought my daughter a mini genises last year when she was 4, she can shoot it just fine. My son will have it next.........actually I can see them fighting over it this year as he will be 3.

I bought my daughter ( she is 3 as well) a toy bow from Wal Mart with the suction cup arrows. I actually have her using carbon arrows and shooting at my target from a few feet away. I figure she can use this until she breaks it and then we will move her on up. There is absolutely no reason you cannot begin to teach a child with a toy. My daughter already says we never shoot people with her bow. I hang her bow on the wall right beside mine. :thumb: Enjoy! I love shooting with my daughter.

I got a stick bow at a yardsale and grabbed some old arrows I had laying around for my daughter. It is about her having fun, she listens very well, and never touches the bow unless her grandfather or myself is with her. I think it is better than a toy with suction cups. Here is a link of her shooting.

My Son's Mini Genisis came in today. Of course that is what Santa is bringing him, so it will be another month before he gets to see it. However, it is camo like his Daddy's(had to be)
Don't you mean... Another month 'till YOU get to play with it?

Yeah, Jag... and you work for Pearson right??? I had a peasron that had the limb crack and they would not cover it... (granted the bow was only 15 years old)
