if you measure the girth of the deers chest in inches you can use the chart and get some idea of what it weighted

I believe for whitetails entrails make up 19% of the dressed weight. If that is the case, a 221# FD deer would have 41.99#'s of entrails to make a live weight of ~263#'s--a true hog!!:mg:

My deer live weight was 234lbs this year. Field dressed 197.8. Right about 35lbs.. That is real close to average for guts.

sounds like an awesome deer. I like to use the chart to get some idea because I dont have a scale to get a dressed weight and measuring the chest to get an idea is pretty fun. Its great to know how much i just dragged out of the woods. The worst one i've had was 200+ dressed and it had to run down the hill it couldnt have run into the field to die that would have been too easy.

Good question..... We weigh all our deer here on the farm before and after we gut them. On an adult deer you can figure 30 lbs. I shot one that weighed in at 255 and field dressed he went 225lbs. So thats pretty close to yours.
