How hard/easy to replace the metal cable with a strap on the worm winch?

      Thinking of this one.
      Would this work?
$5.00 more could have worm at Harbor Freight! Takes about 5 minutes to remove cable & install strap with bolt.

I used a harbor freight hand winch with 20% off coupon that usually comes in the mail or NRA magazines.

What winch did you go with? I’m in the process myself but would like to find an affordable winch that cranks up and down, not free spool on the way down.
I got the Haul-master 1/2 ton from Harbor freight tools. It was $23.99 and I had a 20% off coupon. I cut off the hook and attached a 5/16 quick link (3 pack from Harbor Freight) and added a Carabiner and turnbuckle.

With the limited headroom in my cooler, I picked up one of these to mount to a side wall.

I'll probably make a wooden mounting plate for the winch and lag bolt it through the foam panels and into the 2x4 wall studs. My father-in-law said he has a ATV winch that he will give me. I would need to mount it the same way and then have a 12V battery handy for it. I already have strong eye hooks installed next to each gambrel hook.

Nope no draw board other then my two arms... i am hoping i can get through this without it... if not ill have to take it to the shop for a draw board.
Well then have someone watch when you draw it back, to verify the stops hit at same time. BTW, it's super easy to build your own draw board. Plenty examples in the DIY. Well worth the $25. Click HERE
