I'm new to archery. I ran across some metal d loops on Amazon and I was wondering if they are legitimate? Should I go conventional?

I am wondering how often people are changing there d loops. Number of shots, age, visual damage ect. Also what material are you using. I am used to having the string on the release type, thumb release.
