Is Flemish quieter than endless loop? Not talking about different materials or well built/poorly built strings or different strand counts. 55# recurve, both strings made of BCY652 and both well built with same strand counts,, which one if any will be quieter and by how much?

I want to talk briefly about the history of the longbow in Belgium, during the hundred years war. Of course, Belgium was not a country at this time, but divided among various factions and the territory did change depending on the time period, divided with the holy roman empire, the french +...

...Show the archery world what you can do! lol Yah, right. Got most the dust and grime off the old Root Kadet student bow so I thought I'd make a string for it. Flemish twist seemed a good enough method, and possibly a tad easier on the old bow than an endless loop performance type string...

Put a brand new string on my Hoyt Buffalo, a Flemish twist. The brace height was 6" when I started. Shot about 30 arrows, and the bow was making a funny noise. Eventually figured out that the limbs were rattling. Checked the brace height again, and now it's 5". Wow. Twisted the string (a lot)...
  9. Oneida Archery Discussion
I'm looking to make a flemish twist string for my Oneida. I know Gargod uses 452x. I'm not sure on how many strands should be used? pad the loops with dacron like trad strings? I don't see the double serving done on the gargod loops. Any ideas out there?

Here's a video about how I make my strings. I'm not the most eloquent person, but I get across most of the important stuff by grunting and pointing... If you buy roll or two of 10$ b-50 Dacron and some serving material you can be set for life with strings. In a pinch you can go the a craft...
