Theoretically, if it is during the bow hunting season, I have a hunting license, I live outside city limits, and deer are eating at my garden, could I shoot them with my bow? I have a Mathews Mission Craze at 60 pounds.
I'm saving up for a recurve bow, it has a 25lb. draw weight, and a 28in. draw length. What I'm really wondering about is if I can do simple target practice on my property without it being illegal? Or would I have to go to a local shooting range? I live in Michigan. Thanks! :)
Okay, so I live in the NW suburbs of Chicago... There are no archery ranges within 20 miles of me. There are, however, parks with soccer fields, baseball diamonds, brick buildings, etc. The parks are good sized and often times empty or nearly so.

I've tried to find some answers specific to Los Angeles, but no luck. Maybe someone here would know. Is it legal to shoot in your backyard in Los Angeles. I'm moving off campus next school year and would love to not have to drive half an hour to and from the range to shoot.
