So I’ve been shooting a while now and have been measuring my performance with a little personal app I built. It allows me to create a journal of my shooting and attach media (images/videos) to those entries. It also has a few other quality of life benefits but I built it with the Lanny Bassham...
It's been a while; glad to find myself back on the forum here. Getting right to the point:
I was extremly dismayed that I purchased a copy of Pinwheel Software's OnTarget!2 Software for Archers and when I got a new computer, I transferred the program and backed up reg files over only...
Using the SFA (Pinwheel) software, for a 29.25" arrow at 29" draw (I like my broadhead in front of my knuckles) & 63 lb draw weight, I come up with an optimal spine of 0.339 for a 125 gr head w/ 50 gr insert, and 0.327 for a 150 gr head w/ 50 gr insert.
Using the Archer's Advantage software...
I'm primarily looking to run arrow spine and maybe print sight tapes in the future. Can anyone please tell me which one they personally feel is easier to use or more accurate. Thanks for your input. If there is another software out there better please let me know. Thanks

I have been working on a record keeping system and I am ready to release it.
The point of the software is to keep records for each shoot including practice shoots, it does not plot the position of the arrow, I feel can be a bit difficult to reproduce exactly the position of...
Ok, I shoot an Alphaburner at 68#, 27"DL. Arrows: Easton Lightspeed 340, 26" with 100 gr. points. sight is Hogg Father with CR 3D scope. I've sighted the bow at 20, 30, 40 and 50 yards, then input all my equipment info into the SFA and tried to print a sight tape. Result is not even...
I have OT2 and it's ok... not very user friendly, but once you get used to it, not all that bad.
But without OT2 or any other software, given your bow setup (draw weight/length/whatever else you may need) how would you go about calculating what arrow spine you need? Is there a formula for this...
Has anyone else noticed that the actual differnces between arrows (flight & grouping) ist not as big as suggested by your software.
I came to this conclusion after trying out some Easton Bloodlines in .400 @ 29" with 100gn tips. Thing is for my current set up they're 1/2" too lang and the Tip...
I have a few questions and would appreciate some help:
1) just how (from where to where) do I measure peep height above arrow at full draw? top of arrow to middle of peep hole? (I need to explain to the wife)
2) can I save my own set-ups?
Was wondering what effect there should be on sight marks from:
- cold (say around 32 deg) vs hot (say around 90 deg) days
- dry (say, Texas) vs humid (Miami)
- near sea level (Atlanta/New York) vs high altitude (say, Colorado)
Has anyone experienced any significant changes? Even better...
