I'm a newer hunter and I didn't pay enough attention in boy scouts when I was a kid. Does anyone know of any good guidebooks or handbooks on Midwest tree and vegetation types? I'd like to be a better scout by the time summer hits. Thanks in advance for suggestions.
I am looking to buy 100 to 200 redcedar or Norway spruce trees, depending on price and am in no rush to plant huge trees. Its ok if it will be 7-10 years before they form the border.
What is the average cost you all buy them at and from where?
I got a small food plot probably less than 1/2 acre! I did not have much success last year so i took out almost all the trees and now im left with the stumps. Since the dont serve a purpose id like to get rid of them, you know any ways i got get them out with hand tools?
I am wondering what trees ya'll have had the most success with. I know apple trees are probably the best, but are there any others? I have been thinking of apricots and persimons as well. Any advice is appreciated.:thumbs_up
