Hello I was wondering do you have to put weights on stabilizers for them to work. Would stabilizers dampen vibration, balance the bow, and reduce shock without a weight on them? If yes then why do people put weights on stabilizers? Thank you Uddalok Biswas

I've been out of the market for a new set of hunting stabilizers and I got some extra money laying around and want to look for a new set of hunting stabilizers for my VXR. Currently I have wickstick micro's (27", 12", 10" & 8") but looking for something different. The wicksticks function ok...

One of the complaints I've seen lately about the Mathews Vertix is how heavy the bow is. However, when i look at other flagship hunting bows (Hoyt, Bowtech, Etc.) the weight is only ~ .3 lbs lighter. I have shot the Hoyt Helix, Bowtech SR6, and Mathews Vertix back to back and could not feel...

Hi. I recently purchased a new Shrewd Revel 30", which comes with a 1" A-bomb, two 2-ounce weights and two 1/2 ounces weights. I shoot olympic recurve using a Hoyt Alero and Hoyt 840 limbs at 36 pounds. I've been told by many that I should only be using a long bar front stabilizer only as I...

With all the different weight options for the Gillo risers, which one is "best"? Obviously different strokes... but I can't justify getting all the different weight options. Which one makes it behave well for you? I'm specifically thinking about the 27" and thinking the 3 piece aluminum(400gr)...

Hi, I am selling a 28" RamRod Ultra stabilizer. The stabilizer is in very good condition and roughly a year old. Just a few scuff marks on the end caps and parts of the logo sticker came off. Hey I’m interested in buying arrows and have become confused. When I look at charts for determining arrow spine, it asks for draw weight and draw length. The length I am pretty sure I understand. What is confusing is the draw weight. From what I understand you should use the standard draw weight...

I'm new here, so let me start by thanking this forum for the enormous amount of information I have found here. I need some guidance on arrow selection and its specs (will be using it for target practice and later for Elk hunting) - yes, I've done a lot of reading on different brands. I am using...

USA Archery says that Collegiate Archers in the bow hunter class cannot have a rear stabilizer of more than 6 inches in any direction off the bow. Without this my bow just doesn't hold as well. I've seen guys running a giant stack of weights straight off the riser to "I'm assuming offset the...

Hello All, I'm new to archery and I recently purchased a SAS Rage 70lbs bow. ( didn't do research prior , I just saw some good reviews ) Immediately I noticed that I wasn't able to pull AT ALL ...I'm 23 , 5'6 & 130lbs , so FOR ME ..this is too heavy as my recurve is a 20lbs bow. So after doing...

Hi, I'm a hunting and 3D archer and I'm wondering about my stabilizer. Presently, I have 5 inch 6.5 oz stabilizer. Do I need to add enough weight to counter the weight of my sight? (all-metal construction) My sight picture is fairly steady - but it could definitely be improved. I'm hoping...
