I have had my eye on an '05 Hoyt but can't decide which one. Does anyone have any feedback on their new models, limbs, cams, etc. Sometimes, I can't tell if the dealers are being truthful or not.
I've got an 05 Hoyt UltraTec with XT 2000 limbs and regular Cam & 1/2 for hunting. I have a 05 UltraTec with XT 3000 limbs and regular Cam & 1/2 ordered for 3-d. I really like the UltraTec I have for hunting, couldn't be happier.
Are you wanting your bow for hunting, 3-d, indoor?
Primarily for hunting, but use it for indoor also. I have an '03 Extreme VFT and an '05 Liberty VFT. Both shoot extremely well, the Liberty is a very quiet bow even with light arrows.
The UltraTec appears to be a sweet bow with 37 1/2" ATA. Shorter bows have a lot of energy to absorb within a small package. My Liberty has a short ATA but the vertical limbs do a good job of taming that recoil.
This is a tuff choice this year with the Protec and Ultratec only haveing a 2 fps (IBO) difference. They have the same ATA but the Protec has over and additional inch of brace height. They are both excellent bows.
Have you shot either of these? This class of bow is exactly what I am looking for.
