I went to my trusted bow shop last week who also happens to be a Ravin dealer. I told him I was in the market for a new xbow upgrade. I told him I shoot a Titan Extreme Tenpoint and was happy but wanted to keep an open mind with the ravins. He and his other archery guy told me Tenpoint is the way to go. That goes a long way coming from a Ravin dealer. Chevy vs Ford or is Tenpoint the standard?

I own a TenPoint and really like it. I don’t have experience with Ravin but have always believed TenPoint to be the standard.

I have a Ravin cross bow and some how I got a little nick in one of the cams. I have ben in touch with Ravin after spending hours on the phone I got customer service and found out they can't tell the same story. You can't get parts from them only a repair shop and them can work on them. For me the only repair shop is 300 miles away. I whould not buy a nother Ravin.

Well I like Ten Points and have owned several. But last Fall I was hunting with a new outfitter in Illinois. He was giving the opening briefing and he asked if anyone was hunting with a Ravin some of us raised hands he laughed and said I meant to say hunting with a crossbow? Then he said out of curiosity how many of you are crossbow guys? Nine. How many shooting Ravins? Eight. He said it’s always that way here. The other guy was shooting a mission sub 1. None of them seemed to know much about Ten Point? But I’m from Ohio so we see lots of Ten Points around here. But all seemed to love their Ravins.

But lots of great bows out there.. for me the Ravins just give me lightweight. Speed. Easy cocking/decocking and solid in the hand performance.
Shoot them all let the bow pick you.

All Good bows, I just don't care for the Ravins because you need a special press to work on them and if you go with anything more then a R10 I hear that you better keep a eye on strings because the way the string stops are they saybto replace them every 250-300 shots.. Excalibur for me, Can do all the work at home, strings are $25 and no special press needed!!

i think they are boty qaulity xbows and comes down to what is comfortable for you. I personally love the way the R26, R29, R29x shoulder and feel. A good friend of mine, hates the way they shoilder and loves his Turbo M1. if you are not comfortable with what you are shooting, you wont be nearly as accurate

I have owned both. I hunted with a Ten Point for 12 years and it finally broke when unloading one night after hunting. Next day went to dealer and they called TP and to have repaired they quoted me $450. I said OK and bought a Parker to finish the archery season. The Parker was nice to carry and I ended up shooting several deer with it. When the TP came back from factory the limbs, cables, string were all replaced for the sum of $265 which I thought was great from the original price I was quoted. The bow was 12 years old but was totally like brand new. But I never shot it again as the Parker was so much lighter in weight. Well then Parker went Out of Business. So enter the Ravins. I traded a Win 94 w/26" barrel for a nice R-9. I absolutely fell in love with that bow, especially the weight being 75 yrs. old. I've used it for 2 yrs. now and killed a Pa. Bear, 2 9 points, several does, and a gobbler with it. I've enjoyed the R9 so much I wanted another Ravin and ended up buying a new to me R 29 X that arrived here yesterday.
So I really like both companies. I eventually sold the 1st TP to a young new archer, kept the Parker for back-up. I like the Parker bow but theres no company back up for it anymore. Have the R9 for back-up and the R 29X to play with this summer.
So long sorry short I prefer the Ravins lightweight and speed for my young age.
